For me Anno 2070 scratched the same itch that factorio does, creating something huge and making it work perfect.
pollution also has a huge role in anno 2070, and you have to deal with stuff like that.
I'd suggest buying it with deep ocean DLC since it makes it even so much better and deep ocean islands are cool as F.
Edit; I have not played the newer 2205 but what I have heard blue byte really F'd it up, so older is still better.
I concur. Don't let the graphics fool you. F:E is about as close to 3D Factorio as I've seen.
I don't know when last you ever looked at it but please go read the latest Patch 18 preview notes for FCE, -alot- is/has changed including optimization improvments the end users can directly contribute to with Room building + smart overall base layout. As for MP there is a server creation tool that is in the works that should make that much easier though I have never had any problems with such.
To OP
I would also voice a suggested look at FC:E as the othre three have, do not let the voxel first person minecraft-like view fool you, it is a very logistic, automation focused game and really should be approched on its own terms and is by no means "easy" even on the default settings which are the recomended for any new player because while mid game of the first half is reach-able in 6-8 hours thats -if- you already have played a few times and know what your doing and more realisticly will take 10+.
if you are not sure about the game, there are quite a few youtube videos out there, Direwolf recently did some and the Developer also was doing streams testing how fast could "Rush" to Teir 2 resorces.
Rimworld and Prison Architect share a similar art style, but are different games. Of the two, I can play more Rimworld than PA, and there is more depth in Rimworld. Prison Architect would have more logtistics and strategy in the gameplay (the logic circuits in PA are excellent at creating automation - I wish every game had those as a feature). I've played over 415 hours in Prison Architect, and would also recommend that game. While Factorio is primarily a logistics game, Prison Architect is more on base-building and management, with strategy and logistics elements..
Despite their differences, I would say that most Factorio players would enjoy either game. I prefer Rimworld because of its depth and probably also because I haven't quite played 415 hours in it yet.
Besides, there are absolutely NO games released in 2017 or 2018 which are like Factorio, nor anywhere near as good as Factorio. So I don't think your search will be successful. But good luck.
