Multiplayer in Factorio
Hi all,
I have a little question about multiplayer:
Do I need to have some skills in game to play multiplayer and don't be called for noobs and sorta stuff?
I mean, I'm kinda shy in playing online, because I think I'm awful at most games and I'm getting a little bored playing only with myself.

(Sorry for my English, it's not my native.
Also, writing this by phond was painful.

Hi, The solution is that you learn to stand up for yourself, know your rights and focus on enjoying the game. And remember that being newbie is OK.
If someone calls it out, or mocks you, just ignore them, or report to server moderators.

However if you want to know what to do in multiplayer servers, you can do two things:
1- Read bunch of guides and discussions and watch some Youtube/ Twitch about Factorio.
2- Join the server you want and just observe what everyone else doing. It's fine if you stay still for hours or go around looking at what people do. (Without adjusting it ofc.) You can press M key and zoom in everywhere at map without actually moving. You will see what people do and say.
(That's what I did first.)

It's like chess; First you get familiar with pieces and the board, then you start making your moves and become creative.

Good luck. :)

It very much depends on what server you play. Some are friendlier than others.

In most servers if they are doing a project you will be expected to help doing something. If you are not very good, they might just ask you to do basic stuff (like setting up the bus or building smelters)... until you get better at doing different things.

Stick with your friends if they have the game. The chances of you having a good time with strangers is slim to none.

If you are not rude, are willing to learn and ask questions, you will likely have a good time online and make new friends.
Same with most games.

I would second that the best MP experience would be with friends that have a similar level of experience. If not possible, then when playing MP with randoms, it helps to specialize in one thing, such as mining/outposting, power generation, defense, oil processing, etc. and focus on that particular job. MP servers usually allow a way for you to label what job you are assisting with so other players know. Have fun!

Fatorio community is very friendly they will never call you noob as this is not a competitive game even in multiplayer.... however! there are trolls that will mess with your base and speakers...
