Cannot play game. Says i need login
Hi! When ever I try to start the game, it says that i need to login. I've never seen this before.

try register from Factorio forum site using steam account then login.
Meaning linking your account to Steam on the Factorio site.

You might have to type your Steam account again before login.

The login is only required for downloading/updating mods with the ingame tool and for joining servers.
The account in question is the one from factorio, not steam:
https://factorio.com/
