i has just wondering about the fact that it now need a 3 ghz double core for minimum ....
while i am sure that before it has in my range of system ...

A good portion of the sprites (images) were graphically updated for 0.16 which is most likely where the change came from if there was one.

but the low res version of the sprites should be still the same low res as before. I know that there've been added a lot of new sprittes to the catalog, but I don't think that it makes such a huge difference.
don't worry about minimum and recommended specs, they usually mean nothing and are just arbitary. they can have a totally different meaning for each publisher/developer.

I can still play very fine on my 2.8GHz dual core. Like the user above said minimum reqs are arbitrary and it's not unusual for games to run on systems slightly weaker than specified.

Like the user above said minimum reqs are arbitrary and it's not unusual for games to run on systems slightly weaker than specified.

If you bought the game in 2016 for your 32bit PC then you would now be unable to run the game (as in, the latest stable version of the game and not some archaic 0.0.1 prealpha) at all despite meeting all the system requirements when you handed over the cash.

I mean, how would you feel if Starbucks redefined serving sizes after you had paid for your venti latte? If you got a cup 1/10th the size you'd be rightly annoyed because you got only 50ml despite paying for 590ml.

Technically you can still play the game you bought back in 2016, you just need to choose that version from the properties.

You should be able to run it reasonably well, just be sure to turn down all the settings and don't plan on making a megabase/run really heavy modpacks. You can always play the demo to test it without buying if you're nervous.

The only minimum requirement that has changed from my experience is 32bit system. You need 64 bit now. Everything else can be supplied by a toaster and not even the smart kind. ;)

Just remember to turn all textures to compressed lowres or whatever the lowest setting they offer and also turn off smoke.
