Those are pretty good, but Zachtronics has been a bit of hit and miss for me. E.g. Shenzen I didn't like but I did like Exapunks. Currently enjoying Opus Magnum as well; though I had to disable leaderboards since it was driving me nuts trying to compete with others lol.
I like a lot of games though, from RTS(probably why I feel Biters need some improvement) to Tower Defense and Survival games. Maybe try out games like RimWorld, Rise to Ruins or Dwarf Fortress? IMO, these are similar to Factorio since you need to balance and manage a bunch of resources, products while keeping things manageable. Creeper World 3 is also kinda similar since you end up needing to manage energy production/demand while building a pseudo-logistic network to properly supply your towers/buildings.
+ Anything turn based, especially isometric squad games (Battletech, old X-COMs, the UFO series, Shadowrun series, Space Hulk).
+ Time / resource / empire -management sims (FTL, Stardew Valley, Civ-style games).
+ Sci-fi RPGs (Fallout 1,2,3,NV); & JRPG-style with turn-based combat (Sunrider, the Epic Battle Fantasy series (big fan)).
+ Tower defence (Defence Grid 1, Kingdom Rush series, Dungeon Warfare).
+ Puzzle games (from humble jigsaws to the chess-like Into the Breach, & the mind-bending Zachtronics games, eg; Spacechem).
+ Story / point & click games (Visual Novels, Deponia series).
+ Don't play RTS like Total Annihilation / C&C / Dawn of War much any more (kinda liked the base building more than the combat anyway, & Factorio has that by the ton. With co-op!).
+ & some Path o' Exile when in the mood for rampant slaughter, until the late-game loot griiiind & min-maxing gets too much (old Diablo 2 addiction).
Get resources and choose a district to expand territory part of the map.
- Factory Town
- Autonauts
- Anno series
- Mashinky
I want to play this so badly. Waiting for it to come to Steam eventually.
To be fair, outside of pure story I enjoy playing a lot of different genres so the games I play tend to follow my current mood and are all over the place, mostly single player because a few years in toxic game communities was enough to push me out of the competitive PvP games.
Too many good games to play, both old and new, it's a very first world type of problem but with frequent steam sales it's easy to have an overwhelming catalogue and be able to pick a game just because you want to play something different for a change of pace.
You can't leave the one true game... it's heresy!
It's free, and has a lot of well made new content. Infos on how to get it in the steam forums of the old game.
This game is best played in 2 player coop.
Even when playing other games, I still think about factorio and how I will be playing my next game and what kind of base I will make (preferably something I haven't tried or something outside my comfort zone)
