Transport Belt Connectors?
I've been off this game for awhile and I noticed something in today's Friday Announcement

Section 4 is talking about some transport belts and the wiring tool. What are transport belt connectors? What are they used for?

Probably just the same as using wires on power poles to connect things, but let me know if there's something I'm missing about transport belt functionality.

Nope, it's literally just connecting a wire to a transport belt. It's not a separate entity.

they have been out for a long time. Just most people have not realized it. Its used by using a red or green wire and selecting a transport belt. which creates the connector on it.

The connector can be used to count how many of what type of objects have gone past it. Or how many are on a given section of track. A signal can also be sent to allow objects to move on the track or to be stoped on the track.

Ohhh, that's cool. I've seen some how-to's that involve counting things on a track. Thanks peeps

In my above post I should have said "or how many are on a given section of belt" not track. and A signal can be also sent to allow objects to move on the belt or to be stoped on the belt. Think I got track on my mind as I am waiting for some robots to come and build these tracks for me.

here is a blueprint string example of a belt counting (pulse) iron plates, inputing to a memory cell (arithmetic combinator self-wired to 'each +0'.

https://pastebin.com/StBpecNb

inserter inserting the plates to the gear assembler counts (pulse) to a arithmetic combinator which multiplies by -1 to the memory cell. the inserter placing the plates on the belt is enabled if the plates are < 5.

1. connect wire to belt
2. read contents on belt
3. click hold (change it from pulse)
4. connect to power pole to see the count
5. come back here in 80 hours and tell us what you did from that point
