How to show letters on constant combinator?

I set the letter in the combinator but it is not visible? How does that work?

options/graphics 'show combinator settings when detailed info is on'
then hit ALT

Options > Graphics > Show conditions on combinators when Detailed View is on.

They should add that to the wiki so that if you follow it's instructions, it actually works :).
