What's the meaning of technology difficulty when I start a new map?
I can choose "normal" and "expensive" . But it's no difference when I testing.
Could someone help me? Thanks!

Isnt it the research that gets more expensive?
never testet that option, but i allways thought its for research. ^^

it is, expensive recipy makes stuff cost a bit more, can't remeber precise what ratio it is, but green circiut need 5 copper insted of 2 to run and so on..

the multiplier on reserch makes the tech req. more potions to be made .

expensive research does nothing if you don't use mod. It is here to be able to tell mod what you want even if the base game don't use it.

i don't think this is correct.

as far as i know, when you select expensive, it enables multipliers below it, where you can set by how much the normal costs and research gets multiplied

i have it on, i play no mod, every thing is 5 times the cost in potions as i have a multiplier of 5 .

also i have it so each item cost more material to make.

The short answer: There's no difference yet in normal and expensive tech. Expensive recipes can be modded in, but I don't know what the plans are for that option in future versions of vanilla Factorio.

Since there's some confusion about the recipe/tech options though, let me try to clear it up.

1. Recipe difficulty. Changes the price of some recipes to be more expensive.

2. Tech difficulty. Would presumably make science packs more expensive to make but as I said it's not been implemented in vanilla.

3. Tech price multiplier. Increases how many science pack you need to research a tech.

Hope that helps.

This is really helpful. Thanks. And thank all the answers above.

This is also incorrect, at least partially. Expensive recipies are in vanilla. For example Gear wheels are 4 iron not 2, and green circuits are 10 copper cable and 2 Iron plate, instead of 3 cable and 1 iron plate.

You are wrong. He explicitely said that "recipe difficulty" is what makes things more expensive, such as gears and circuits. The game's "tech difficulty" is a setting that at current does absolutely nothing to cost of researches (number of packs), recipes of products, or research time. It is an option purely for mods convenience to take advantage of. Similar to how vehicles technically have a inventory grid for equipment like shields, personal laser defenses, and exoskeletons, but can only be used in mods that use it.
