i had used it few times when i was designing my megabase components, mainly oil build

There's a good site that will do calcs for you as well (just remembered it): http://factorio.rotol.me/pack/base-f14/factoratio/

(It will also do various mod packs as well -- Bob's, Angels, 5dim, etc.)

but its more fun to do it yourself, its the same with solar farm: i can use madzuri build or i can try to build it myself and then be proud that it is mine and not someone else

Oh indeed, I love to come up with my own designs. However, it's always nice to have a tol available if you change your mind!

i just cheked that site, dont like it and there is why: cant set productivity or speed bonus and i just tried to calculate a price for one rocket with satelite and it didnt work because i ether get 1 satelite and 0,1% rocket (one of each component) or 1 full rocket and 1000 satelites. it could be improved but for now i will use my own head to do ratios

I just have a lot of good, old fashioned paper to write on. The calculator is in my head :D

I'll occasionally calculate out a long production chain, but it's not so common i'll grab a physical calculator; i'll just use the one that comes with Windows.

@Rokas, you used to be able to set modules, it's unfortunate that they appear to have removed that functionality :-(
