Known Issues and Workarounds

Thank you for your interest in Way of the Samurai 3.

Upon release I will be updating this thread with any known issues as and when they appear.

If you exit a game to the main menu, or complete a playthrough and then immediately start a new game it is possible that the game will crash, so please make sure you save before doing this.

If the game crashes when starting a new game please try downloading the latest PhysX driver ( http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/physx-9.15.0428-driver-uk.html ), this is the 1st point that the game calls PhysX and it appears to be causing a problem on some machines. You may need to reset your PC after doing this.

If you're running Windows 10 then having both an Xbox controller and a different type of controller plugged in then this may prevent the game from starting, or starting a new game. So if you encounter this problem please try unplugging one controller.

First of all if your experiencing problems with the game I recommend ensuring please try updating Windows, PhysX and Direct X and please make sure your drivers are also up to date and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package is installed.

If your controller is not working, then please try setting LegacyInput to 1 in the ini file

If you’re suffering from slow down and other performance issues then please try setting EnableDOF to 0 in the ini file.

If for whatever reason you cannot find a solution here please email [e-mail] with details of your bug and your Dxdiag. While you can continue to post them here emailing us means that it won't be lost amidst all the other posts and allows us to address the issue sooner.

Setting the LegacyInput to 1 in the ini file, verifying the game files and installing the C++ 2005 Redistributable fixed that for me (not sure which one did the trick, since I didn't test the game in between them). The game even recognizes my controller as an Xbox One Controller in the options menu, now. But the L stick still won't take me to the map screen. Not sure if that issue is related.

Is you save file still present on your PC? You should be able to find it at My Games\Ghostlight Ltd\Way of the Samurai 3

Tried running in admin. Informed that PhysX.dll is not present on the system. Tried to install latest version "A newer or same version is already on your system. Installation aborted"

So, yeah. Still unable to play.

Make sure Map Shortcut is turned on in the in-game options screen (I forget which section). You also have to hold the left stick down, not just tap it. That's the issue I had anyway.

I'm not sure if that's normal or not but in my game it feels like animations are too fast, I didn't put FPS to 60 so I'm not sure if I imagine things.

Have you tried restarting after installing PhysX?

while we have a new patch for the game, it hasn't addressed the saving and loading issue for me, unless it wasn't meant to address that yet?

any idea when the issue with returning to the main menu and starting a new game / loading a save will be addressed please?

as when I downloaded a patch, I was in hope that the issue would be fixed, but it not, as I just tested it, and still crashes.

So I downloaded the game, twice, ran the installers for all 3 programs twice, cheaked the game files and steam said it is fine. okay then I updated from the link still nothing. my problem? I hit play, game says running then 2 seconds later it goes to synchronizing then done. no black screen, no crash, just pure nothing.

OK GUYS!! Mine is working again!! I changed my time in windows to 24 hour format, and now my save files are showing up in game. I couldn't save the initial s files that disappeard , but at least it works now. I #$$%@ love this game

That is weird. Could you email [e-mail] with details and your Dxdiag please, so we can look into it.

The game keeps crashing whenever I leave Amana and reload the game, or start a new game. I've already updated to the latest PhysX driver, and my windows and direct x are also updated. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package is installed. This is really annnoying, what should I do?

a fix is comming, or should be, but not got an answer from the devs on when its coming.

best bet is to completely quit the game and start it, I or alt tab, kill the process and start it.

only way until the issue is fixed.
