[SPOILERS] Late Game crafting recipes / respawn
Been absolutely loving the game but one major gripe I've had since completing my first run-through is only ever receiving a single Gravity Dampener.

To a lesser degree I feel the same way about the Antique Shotgun but I could take or leave it since I wasn't blown away by its effectiveness. The Gravity Dampener only ever being able to be used by one player resulted in a lot of scenarios where I'd be able to get somewhere or do something where I'd then have to backtrack to help my co-op player do the same as well.

After completing all available content on vanilla settings we started another playthrough with item respawns on to hopefully result in both of us being able to get Gravity Dampeners in labs but for an item that changes the gameplay in such a huge way I was rather disappointed there wasn't a way to at least craft another one for my co-op partner.

I understand it's an 'anomoly' and that it's meant to be rare but I don't see why we couldn't learn a recipe on pickup that costs a lot of expensive resources to achieve the same results. I'd even be okay with farming the Tarasqe to get the mats but not having any way to get another whatsoever was disappointing.

Add in a entity that is used to craft a machine to duplicate rare stuff using resources.
This way you can duplicate the rare entity items like the gravity dampener and the antique shotgun.

Could just add to the text lore a 'problem' that the cube self-replicates occasionally when removed from containment, if need be. But on the roadmap, it does say jetpacks are planned sometime as well.

I would be interested to see how jetpacks change the general maneuverability throughout the facility, but I'd imagine the Gravity Dampener would still be nice as I'd imagine the jetpack will be somewhat 'unruly' as far as being able to control or for when the jetpack simply runs out of battery.

I still think uniques should respawn periodically. Yes, some people would be happy if they were special and unique and *theirs* to hoard or pass around manually in multiplayer.

But would that be more people happy then people who would be more happy if they *all* had them and didn't have to play pass the parcel every time they want to take a shortcut or explore? Probably not, in my guess.

While it does suck to only get one, I think this could be partially solved by buffing the other trinket options. Currently the others do nothing apart from emitting slight light, it would be more interesting to have multiple choices instead of the one clear choice.

If you set server loot respawn to true they do respawn abeit a long respawn timer. I do agree we need more useful trinket options as well or let us make some bouncy boots that simulate the gravity dampener but not as effective.

I personally think the best way to handle unique 'one-of-a-kind' drops would be to have the item itself be unique, but have it unlock a recipe to craft an item with identical effects.

Similarly to what Limesy was saying, I think the underlying problem isn't that these items don't respawn, but rather that there's no other items in the game that share their behavior/effects.

I sincerely hope Deep Field considers implementing some additional recipes to craft these unique items because as it stands, the Shotgun and Gravity Dampener both result in negative experiences in co-op situations where I either feel bad for hoarding the 'special item' or share it and feel bad for missing out on this using this special item.

Side note, am I missing something or is the Shotgun ammo totally useless after the Antique Shotgun breaks?

Some of the Order guys can drop a shotgun, also, unlike every other gun, you can repair the Antique Shotgun.

Really? I've killed so many of the shotgun guys (who I assume are the ones who drop it) and I've never seen one. I guess I'm just super unlucky.

I just assumed the shotgun wasn't repairable, kind of silly for me to have not checked. I just assumed it was unable to be repaired and threw it in the post as an additional suggestion.

Yep! And we'll also be getting jetpacks in the summer update too, so the limited or slow respawning cube may not be a problem once we have those anyway.

I do wish they had included the Antique Shotgun and Space Lettuce in that change too, though.
