I love Personal Teleporter, but it's OP
I want to be using my Gate SUV, but there's no real reason to - Personal Teleporter supersedes every vehicle and trivializes most situations. Full of loot? Teleport. Lost? Teleport. About to die? Teleport. Forgot to fill your water bottle before you left home? Teleport. Can't find a toilet? Teleport. Etc. All it takes is a quick recharge, and you're practically untouchable and unstoppable. It can solve nearly any situation. You instantly stop being a scared intern, and become a Dr. Who or Rick Sanchez (which is great, but it's too sudden IMHO).

I don't think it should it should be removed, it's way too useful. I just think it's too convenient. What if it was a little less so? Nothing hard, just enough to make it a bit more of a strategic decision instead of a willy-nilly one. Like, perhaps it takes some damage each use (extra for cross-dimensional?), so you eventually have to repair it. Or maybe you have to reload it with a new Exor heart from time to time. I don't know about you, but I usually have like 4 Exor hearts rotting in the fridge so that seems fair to me, they're easy to come by. What do you think?

this is why my suggestion was swap around the PT and telepad's spots in the game progression because the post labs sections would benefit far more from TP pad for base moving or fast travel purposes.
you dont get access to handheld until labs and the teleporter pads wouldn't change anything at all besides being placed down similar to how the laser collecter now currently works.

you still have to go back and collect the pad then travel back to base unless you'd like to burn some annoying to grind resources if you don't retrieve it. besides letting players establish a teleporter network earlier on reduces the brick wall of locations you have to get resources for later on.
Part of the issue is the grind for PT's is much easier than the resources for getting a single
telepad that can't be used without a second one crafted. you have to grind 2 types of enemies for the TU, go to 2 portal worlds, and then grind 2 more enemies to make TP network.
Now for a PT network your main bottle neck is staplers, carbon, and antewheat derivatives both which have multiple ways to be farmed and 1 enemy type who also drops some of the resources required with the other one being extremely easy to kill and was a common enemy introduced in the office sector.

additionally when something is made the prototypes/first versions are always bigger and further refinements and adjustments make making it smaller more and more feasible. look at the history of how we went from the telegraph stations, to telephones in the home, to large blocky cell phones of the 70'/80's to the touchphones of today.

when you place the pad you can just tp straight to it and pick it up to move on when able, its basically what was done in valheim and imo PT's grind is more difficult due to needing to aquire the optical lenses alone, ironically the only limiting factor of the new teleporter is the lodestone which isnt hard to aquire, im excited for the new TP's because this is now the cheaper way of travel for me lol.

you still have to find a power outlet, build the teleporter, then enter and leave before night falls, else loose another inv slot to a battery. you can do that now with 1 bench, screwdriver, and 2 PT's and don't even need power at night to TP back.

finding power outlets isnt to hard nor is sacrificing a battery slot since I gain a 2-way back to base considering the inventory slots you should have by now, besides makeshift isnt hard to make as they can last long enough for what you need. If you need the tp active the entirety of the night then you can just hold 2 of them which works lol.

and with a PT you can access it from anywhere in the facility two points of your choosing vs returning to the same area to return to base.

Again, with 2 batterys you have the same exact thing lol, the Handheld is faster but you have to recharge it at your base, crafting bench also ways far more than a new teleporter, youll need to place down a bench on both ends just to use 2 handhelds and both benches need power which can be done with a single battery between the 2 just to connect the handheld assuming.

The argument doesnt really hold up that much to any real scrutiny because the new TP is better in general vs handheld, like I said though us people who been playing non-stop we have networks setup because thats all we had, now though with this ima hit a new gold age of travel, going to keep handheld though for when I accidently fall off a cliff or get stuck in a wall again.
