Reduce Arcane Scrap cost for Transuranic Superalloy
Transuranic Superalloy as of this post requires 4 Arcane Scrap as part of the recipe. This is problem because of the availability of Arcane Scrap on a normal playthrough following the intended progression of Dusk -> Cloud -> Mist -> Gale. A player needs 24 arcane scrap for the superalloy to complete the first 3 reactors and upgrade a keypad hacker to level 6.

Dusk reactor has 5 enemies to get arcane scrap from
Cloud has around 13, and some of the fights players may want to avoid (like jotuns)
Mist has none

That's only 18 scrap from enemies if you go out of your way to hunt them down.
There are somewhere between 8 and 12 boxes from Dusk and Cloud combine that also provide arcane scrap. Many of these boxes are easy to miss.

This brings the total, with a highball assuming you killed every gatekeeper and found every box, to ~30 arcane scrap before Gale Reactor. Leaving maybe 6 scrap to use on the fun new toys unlocked with the same resource. So it's very likely players can softlock themselves before Gale Reactor by not getting enough arcane scrap, or using it on other non-essential things. At least until respawns happen, which is not fun when you want to progress.

By lowering the Arcane Scrap cost to make Transuranic Superalloy to 3, it greatly reduces the odds of players accidentally stalling their progression and having to wait to farm respawns. It frees up 6 scrap needed to progress into Gale reactor. Reducing the cost to 2 would feel even better for after-reactor play because making the new items is still heavily reliant on farming gatekeeper respawns/portal resets for scrap.

Do you know that the dark green boxes give scrap too right?

They did mention the reactor-tier crates in their post.
have you tried breaking boxes based on their color and killing people

It's called pacing. I wish people would stop trying to get devs to constantly make the game easy mode for them.

Am I being multi-trolled here?

This is feedback about normal difficulty, default settings first-time progression through reactors. It is very easy to get completely stalled out due to not enough arcane scrap and be forced to wait for respawns. Waiting for respawns being the actual problem.

Transuranic Superalloy seemed like an easy way to fix this, while also making the post-game grind of slaughtering gatekeepers a bit less... grindy.

Alternative suggestions:
- Make gatekeepers drop more arcane scrap, even a 25% chance to drop 2 would add up
- Make boxes drop 2 arcane scrap. This would be a one time solution that would help initially with clearing reactors, but not change the post-reactor grind.

There is a bit of arcane scrap to be gained from scrapping flickering eyeballs from the Mystagogue and his little minions, though I'm not sure if you've already been doing that

If you have, then yeah, I support having a little extra scrap in the boxes for the sake of not halting progression behind grinding

Otherwise, get scrapping! It might just be enough to push your needs over so you don't have to redo fights

Yeah going to the one reactor with the hole and snagging all the eyes there has been my go to spot to just quickly grab a bunch.
i currently have over 1 stack of arcane scrap after i`ve finished all of the reactors because i broke all the boxes and killed all the gatekeepers
rats also drop arcane scrap now, i'm not sure what the trigger is for them to start to drop it

I had no issues with getting the scrap I just carried a fully charged spare battery, laser emitter, and laser collector with me and melted everything with the deatomizer and laser katana I am drowning in arcane scrap. Also if you're looking to grind on material, fish, enemies, farming etc set the time of day passage to 3.0 and then set it back to 1.0 when you're done or for fishing same concept speed up the time when the fish is most likely to appear exit the game and set the time to 0.1 just make sure to keep an eye on your leyak unit and plants lol

Thank you. All of you. Offering unsolicited advice and comments of "I had no problem" in a feedback/suggestion post will certainly make the game a better experience for everyone. I'm sure your parents are so proud of your gaming skill, reading comprehension, and ability to offer insight, feedback, and well thought out counter points.

It looks like there are several people giving advice, but you might be a touch too sensitive. You have an insane number of hours in this game, but I imagine you are leaving the game running while you pass out from lack of sleep, or you simply don't care to close it when not playing. If, at this point in the game, you haven't learned to not craft every available item when it starts to become obvious that you have to make the transbologna alloy, there's no hope for you. You stated something in the original post, then say advice is unsolicited. Only an insane person, or someone full of themselves, would post numbers to complain without expecting comments, helpful or not. I think perhaps you might be the troll. Congratulations, you got me to type something in response. I'm blocking you as soon as I type this. Not sure what effect that has, but it doesn't cost me any transbologna alloy.

I think the main reason you're getting unsolicited advice because you made out the arcane scrap situation to be worse than it actually is, you made it out as if all gatekeeper enemies only drop 1 arcane scrap, mystagogues and jotuns in particular drop 2 scrap, the eyedrones *can* also drop more than 1, and this is before considerations of scrapping flickering eyes(of course, one would have to remember to keep 1 of those for making a tier 6 cracker).

That aside, I actually agree with reducing the arcane scrap cost to 3(but not 2), because it is the only component I could actually see bottlenecking a less knowledgeable/optimised player who wants to progress and doesn't know all the tricks to its efficient acquisition. It would allow a such a player to be a bit less restricted in their early superalloy usage, while still having enough cost that you can't just recklessly craft a million of the things later.

I think this is the best argument you can make for OP's suggestion. And thank you for properly putting the availability of Arcane Scrap into perspective too.
