Re-securing Doors
I base in the security office between Office Sector and Manufacturing. It'd be extremely helpful to base security if we were able to re-secure doors that were previously unlocked via the hacker keypad/powering it up/etc. There are buttons that would suggest you could close and open these blast doors at will, but you are unfortunately not able to do so.

To clarify, it's the doors mentioned in this specific example are the blast doors that start at the top of the ramp next to the sec office and the blast door that sits across from the elevator and the security bot spawn at the bottom of the ramp. It's part of the bot's patrol path if you open the shortcut blast door.

I find blocking doors with stuff like the cement bag walls prevent enemies from getting thru, even when they manage to open the door. It's a fix for now, and I agree it would be nice if you could lock doors again.

Unless I am mistaken, and I may be, but. Isn't that the base location you can reactivate the security shutters with a controller or whatever? If it is, it is the reason my bestie and I picked that location for a permanent base, along with liking what it looked like, with the two levels lol. If it's not a portal storm base raid, nothing got in there lol with the gates down.

That's one of the doors. I think they are talking about the side door by the lockers and bathroom needed to get into it in the first place.

Yeah, I mean I'm doing that for now, but it's a bit tedious trying to keep defenses maintained, as the security bot will just tear through them every night if I don't. I'm talking about the heavy metal blast door that goes down the right side if you're coming from the shutter side. Needs a power supply to open and then there's a ramp that leads down to the elevator and another blast door on the left that opens the shortcut to Manufacturing where the Forklift guy and the security bot are.

I get what the devs are doing by not allowing players to close those again, since it's supposed to be open due to progress, supposed to not allow players to lock themselves out, and being able to close them again would grant even more base defense control.

That said, the video game logic for it is stretched thinner than usual, and can develop a weird meta strategy where you don't unlock certain doors just to make things easier on yourself later.

I've had this happen not with those big doors, but with a few locked office doors. My play next through of the area had me just not unlocking some doors, because I knew what would happen if I did.

Personally I just live in portal worlds.... Up the elevator in the city setting is super atmospheric and fun. But I guess re shuttering doors would be useful.

I've thought about basing in a portal world, but I just don't know which one would be worth basing in. I was going to base in the ice area, but even inside, it's too damn cold to be viable.

One thing that helps is to set up a couple tesla coils facing the open blast door; they'll shred anything that tries to get in, namely that security bot. Otherwise the aforementioned bot usually takes care of raids for me.

I do that myself, and I agree that the bot has its uses. But I'm trying to expand my base outward. So for example, I've set up barricades and 'claimed' the area down the hallway from the security office near where that sparking wire by the wrecked forklift is at. And I've expanded out the backdoor of the security office all the way down to the meeting room near the main lobby. So obviously the bot being in that area is a bit a a troublesome factor.
