Heating/Heaters
I really think the heating shouldnt stop working if you are 2 meters away from the bench. If i have a sliglty bigger base, i would need like 2-4 heaters all around to feel warm. Maybe increase the range or make it that the bench heater could heat up the room if its the room isnt too big

Heaters are almost totally useless as of now, IMO. The level 1 cold debuff you get at night basically does nothing (It makes your food need drain extremely slightly faster, your movement speed imperceptibly slower, and you lose stamina extremely slightly faster). The only actually cold area in the game has basically no outlets and there's no "heat retention" in this game so the instant you leave one you're freezing again. (Not to mention that negating temperature debuffs with equipment and consumables is trivial)

I mostly just use heaters now as a decoration for the two colder portal world bases.

When my science dude kept complaining about being too warm while in the hazmat suit (before the thermal update), I pretty much stopped using heaters.

Even now they don't seem all that needed. There is a slight meta related to it, but its an obscure one with preserving anomalies by putting them some place warm so they don't decay as fast but hardly anyone knows or cares about that.

The debuff for being slightly too cool isn't that noticeable, and it can be canceled by some early gear that gives a +1 to cold resistance.

And this is on top of the fact that heaters don't seem to warm that big of an area.

I took the perk that reduces temp too. Literally only need to change my gear for three portal worlds. It's nice.

Weathered is a good trait to have. It literally cuts down the needed gear/items for cold or heat reduction by a third.

Well given the performance issues with laser networks and power sockets and the radiation, making heaters cover a larger area could hit your frame rate pretty hard lol

It would be awesome to be able to warm a whole area up with a big fire but as the game functions right now its much simpler just to put on any cold resist hat or hold a heater shield or even use the heat charm.
These all negate the cold effect. Its not even a bad effect really. Simply walking around will raise your body temperature. Heater do look very comfy tho when you use them with some of the fancy furniture :waytohell:

I agree, I had the smart Idea of building in the Russia world and using like 50 heaters everywhere.
