Renewable Space Lettuce Spawn

Most players do not immediately know that there's only one space lettuce and that have to scrap it ASAP if they want more. I've heard a few folks say that they misplaced or decayed theirs. To me it makes very little sense that a single head of lettuce was retrieved and that GATE didn't just grow a space lettuce plant in that cell.

That way players that accidentally misplace their lettuce can replace it without having to rely on dark sorcery.

Edit: They changed it I guess! I just went to go get it and it dismantles into a seed meaning it's easy to propagate. Thanks devs!

How do you get into the room to get the lettuce? The door is locked for me.

Opens up when you progress far enough.

Kind of a reward for reaching the end. A few other places do the same as well.

My question is what happens if you fumble the first lettuce seed? Does it respawn in containment, or is space lettuce in its current form a sort of teaser for future content?

You have to deal with the turrets first, the reprogramming unlocks some of the containment doors as well.

Ideally, the dang thing should just regrow inside it's containment like a normal plant... but with unlimited water 🙏🏻

Just wanted to heavily second this. I was so excited to be the chef/farmer of the group, and the space lettuce meant a huge upgrade in the food I can make. One pressing "F" instead of "E" too long on my garden plot later, and an entire segment of gameplay is shut off to me. It would cost literally nothing to have it be a single plant that can't be destroyed and rarely respawns. Very frustrating.
