Some thoughts on Bio Materials
Some of the recipes/scrap path of bio materials always seemed odd to me. Both, considering real world and ingame logic. This is an attempt to write that down and to propose some ideas how it could be improved.

Initial problems:

1. Food, FOOOD, SO MUCH FOOD
If you "just" go for the completeness of soups, oven recipes and fish you will drown in unused food. If my character could, he would be obese 4 times over by now. In the beginning I was eating everything that was close to spoiling. At some point I had to stop and started scraping it. But it all just scraps into Bio scrap. When I got tons of Bio scrap I went and chucked all further food into the abyss.

2. I basically never use fertilizer. For one it doesn't seem to do much and then it is way to expensive/limited to get the materials. Especially the anomaly is limited to 0-6 per night. With 3 being the default in almost all nights. That means you can either get 3 T1 fertilizer or a single T2. We don't know what T3 will look like but if this logic continues expect to need 6 anomalies for a single fertilizer. For the improvement you get out of it, the cost is way to high and the availability is way to low.

3. Using poop to get soil is not only YUCK it is also plain wrong, nobody does that.

4. Everything scraps into Bio scrap and there is little ingenuity with what could actually be done with all these materials.

The suggestions:

1. Vegetables and vegetable foods scrap into compost which then can be crafted into Soil. Optional it could also be crafted into fertilizer just if another path is needed to get rid of more food. This is the perfect loop, use old unused and rotten food to grow new one.

2. Animal food parts and food containing animal parts scrap into bio scap. Nothing changes here, just a little bit less bio scrap

3. Fish can be scraped into fertilizer or fertilizer component (the normal path of butchering stays the same). It could be a higher tier since in real life this is a very potent fertilizer. This opens a path for the tons of fish that usually go to waste.

Now all that is left to do is find something for the anomaly and the bag of poop.

4. Poop is directly used to craft grenades. This isn't even too far from reality since for hundreds of years latrines have been scraped out to get Potassium nitrate which is used in Black Powder. And the illogical step through soil is skipped.

5. Anomalies could be added to grenade recipes also. This would solve another problem. At the moment grenades are OP as F and are easily farmed. Especially Electro Grenades. By adding the limited anomalies to the recipe they would be nerfed just a little bit, like fertilizers currently are.

So... what happened to the 'yuck factor' for using poop as a weapon? :steammocking:
Who even makes poop grenades?!
(Just pulling your leg on that one. I couldn't help but notice the irony)

That's likely where the in-game idea came from. Though animal dung from herbivores is better since they eat a lot of plants, which comes out half processed (because plant fibers are tough), and they make a lot of it.

In a pinch I could see using a different source.

Human feces based fertilizers are a thing[en.wikipedia.org], but they're primarily only used in developing countries due to their high linked risk to increased disease and parasite transmission. Other applications have been seen for exclusively decorative plants (ie, flowers), but... the risks outweigh the benefits if you can source animal-based fertilizers.

Guys, there's a difference between soil and fertilizer and no, you don't make soil from feces.
It is also mostly irrelevant since the main point is to utilize ingame resources better.

I much rather fling poop at my enemies than eat whatever grows out of it.
