That said, I'd like a way for vending machines to not break, or can be repaired. Granted, I've hardly used them, but it would feel bad to have a base near some, only to break because of an accident or a raid getting a bit out of hand.
There's vending machines all over the place though so I'm not sure if it'd be a notable gameplay advantage to begin with
Most people set up in the security room, which has vending machines anyway. By the time you hit Flathill you'll have too much money (hopefully the wandering traders in a future update take cash?).
Besides, once you hit strength 5 you can just shake vending machines for stuff. it's something like 1/10 chance to get something, but it's still free and never breaks the machine.
