Equip Item Off of Charging Station or Charge Jetpack Without Losing Storage
I noticed that the jetpack is wildly inconvenient to unequip and charge, cutting half of your storage and dropping everything you're carrying. I'm not entirely sure if I'm just nagging to nag, but I feel like it would be nice to at least be able to equip an item directly off of the charging station so I don't have to drop an item in my inventory jut to pickup the jetpack and equip it before regaining my original storage capacity. Or, have the ability to charge the jetpack while retaining everything you're carrying in the storage of the backpack while its charging. I'm sure someone has found a more convenient way to go about this for now, but i feel this would be a solid addition. I've considered carrying a backup backpack just to equip before charging the backpack, but it just feels like a gimmick to me.

I was surprised when I saw that the jet pack needed to be removed for recharge, since I knew about the game dumping items and thought it would cause way more problems. I'm honestly surprised there aren't more threads like this one.

Not sure how to handle it better, besides either making a removable battery for the Jetpack that you can take out and charge, or have a purpose built charging station you walk next to or into. Though, I'd rather have the former since that means there isn't anything special that needs to be done, and also means I can carry extra power for flying! :steamhappy:

Right now, I've long since coped by carrying a second backpack on me, which honestly helps more than you'd think. If I need to carry more stuff, I swap backpacks and get more rows of slots and can keep looting; but at the cost of not being able to fly anymore (but that's what the teleporter is for).

i think any bag in your inventory should be auto equipped if you remove the jetpack. or maybe give the jetpack it's own slot like how headgear does. someone else also suggested something like an extra prompt that pops up when looking at a fully charged item, it would basically be an equip prompt. maybe you hold down e?

Battery or autoequip when picked up (for backpacks, lights and armor) would both be massive improvements.

When you stop using the lower row for special items and switch to the first row the jetpack is less of a hazzle though.

Maybe belt pouches you can craft and equip which also provides slots similar to backpacks? In exchange, it takes up slots on your hotbar.
For 1 hotbar slot it gives you 3 inventory slots.

So if you want you can fill all the hotbars except for the first four, to be pouches. No need for a backpack but you can only 'use' four different tools as the rest of them are locked out.

Maybe pouches can have strict requirements, such as you can't put furniture in them. So the slots you get will have unique icons indicating what type of item can fill it?

This enables you to use jetpack while having some more inventory space to manage.

Bandoleers and pouches can be integrated into said clothing or armor too, so there's many ways to get inventory slots while freeing up a backpack slot.

Also, why can't you loot Order uniforms and suits off of enemies to craft your own?
