Any chance of couch co-op?

Hello, I've been considering getting this game and would love to play this with my significant other, but the only real way to do that would be with a split-screen mode. Are there any plans to implement this, or any well-made mods that accomplish this?
I'd appreciate any response one way or the other for this.

Oh dang... I really doubt that's realistically possible for a game like this; that would require a major IU overhaul.

It would be easier than some other games with a more dense HUD and UI, but it would still be quite the challenge.

I'd be shocked if the devs even touched on that. A mod could technically do it, but you'd have to wait for both mod support from the devs (which they really do want to put into the game) and a dedicated modder to do it.
