the sleep minigame can also be disabled by lmao dude just drink coffee and make mugnades but seriously you can sit down or just fail the sleep minigame entirely
I stand by your choice of wanting to torture yourself but I don't personally care for it.
However, waiting that long is very boring in game, so that's why the mini-game is there, to reduce the wait time by rewarding you for being a bit active in (hopefully) a slightly amusing and engaging way.
Letting time pass is expected while sleeping or going to the restroom, so making it instant would seem weird too. And no, speeding up in game time is not an option for a multiplayer built game like this.
The only thing that's forcing you is the impulse that's been trained into you by other games to do as you are expected to do when given a prompt. You should give The Stanley Parable a play if you are having problems resisting pressing buttons when told to do so.
(Seriously, it is a great meta-commentary game!)
That said, turning off mini games could be an option, but it would be a rather boring one. It would mean being forced to wait some amount of time for each activity to finish, though no where near as long as you would were to do no inputs in a mini game, but likely not be as fast as if you participated.
Though if you want to suggest a reloading mini game...
Have you played Gears of War? There is a dead simple mini game for reloading weapons.
https://gearsofwar.fandom.com/wiki/Active_Reload
(I kid, I'd rather not have another mechanic added to combat, especially when aiming is already a mini-game and a half to figure out)
Potty humor? Do you hear farts when doing it? No. There is just a water flushing sound, and that's it. There is no gratuitous toilet stuff happening. Yes, it is an uncomfortable topic, but they aren't playing it up for laughs. Pooping and waste management is literally part of survival.
(it can literally play a part in farming)
And it isn't anywhere near as bad as Ark.
So just copy Minecraft and be boring and done with it that easily?
The devs didn't want to mess with in-game time leaping ahead, so some amount of waiting is going to happen while sleeping. You either sit there and do nothing, or do a little time waster and get done faster. There's nothing nefarious or gross about it.
Plus, the devs even tried to word the toilet mini game in a nice way. They didn't even come close to describing it as, how did you put it?
That's more telling about you than about the devs.
And I agree with this.
I'm fine with an option to have mini games be turned off via a setting, but it will make things boring as the wait time will be somewhere between the min and max time you'd otherwise get if you did do the mini game.
ok Had to give that sarcasm a slow clap...

anyway on topic. the option to disable them would be a good option, that said they do fit the games style and humor. Also the sleeping one gives some feedback to it, for example if the layek targets you while you are sleeping she appears in the minigame giving you the ability to quickly get up and deal with her.
that said your dislike of minigames confuses me, as mini games are mainly used to prevent fatigue in games, allowing you to distract yourself with something else for a few moments.
and Abiotics are none intrusive.
