I HATE the Leyak
I absolutely hate the invisible stalker thing. The Leyak or something. I hate it. I can't go anywhere now without constantly looking over my shoulder for this thing. even when you "kill" it with x-rays it comes back way too fast. I don't want to build dozens of x-ray towers, but I don't seem to have any other choice. If only the x-ray towers either aimed at it whenever it was in line of sight, or always pointed the same direction but because the spin, they always leave potential gaps. Can there please be some way of keeping this thing away for longer periods of time. Ideally, a quest to permanently return it to containment would be great. Even if you were to just limit it's stalking to the labs. I haven't played this game since I finished the labs because I dread this thing so much. It's not horror, it's just anxiety.

It just wants to be your friend but has crippling anxiety when making eyecontact and panics when you get too close, don't be mean to Leyak...

I call him Bob... but I call lots of things bob. I always wave at him when he appears, part of me wants an option to befriend it so it just hovers around but doesn't attack if I feed him or something.

You took my joke on Leyak (and got a reward for it!), because it really does sound like a stressed out introvert, likely with asthma, if you stop and listen to it; seemingly on the cusp of wanting to say something, but can't get it out from being too stressed.

His name's Herbert. He hates when people call him Bob.

Same, I hate that flying thing, gives me paranoia. May have to put another Xray turret with battery next to my bed just to have some safe sleep.

I love the Leyak. Not enough to take it out to dinner, mind you, but I appreciate its squelchy, breathless noises and the unsettling way it's insides have become its outsides. Floating so peacefully while causing so many fellow interns to crap their trousers or yelp in surprise.

You'd crap your pants too if you _remember_ every other timeline you died in.

But... the creepy bad-touch of an inside-out, human octopus that floats in the air like a moist flesh balloon is so much fun!

It isn't inside out.
It's a disembodied head from a disemboweled body, with all the organs hanging out.

Don't we all hate the Leyak?

Seriously though I wish devs would add a sandbox option to limit it to Labs or something. And probably make the X-Ray turrets actually target it when it enters their radius (or at least spin faster).

That is what you see. I see... perfection. ;)

Turret facing (currently) has nothing to do with effectiveness against Leyak. On my solo game, the turret sometimes glitches out, not making any sounds, and still works when it floats into range.

However, turrets are pretty short ranged.

Also I don't hate Leyak, I just find it slightly annoying.

I called it a floating lung monster, especially given the looks and the stifled breathing it does, before seeing the wiki page on the real life lore of Leyak, where it is described as how I said it, and then it made a bit more sense.

I kind of thought of it as a 4 dimensional creature dipping their head into our reality, which is why you only see a floating head, lungs, and other bits, as they become tangent to our reality.

At first IS-0091 bothered me a lot, leading me to run away and fall off edges or run into enemy groups but now i just set my Steam overlay timer to 15min and reset it every time it vanishes. This has made it easier to expect its approach and look in its direction when it starts to stalk me. The hand held xray once you unlock it is great and a permanent feature on my hotbar for sure. I do like the idea of feeding it and making it less hostile, at least for a time. Maybe a soup/sandwich that makes you less desirable to Mr. Floaty Bagpipes. Overall though it is an annoyance and when playing solo can be a burden. If you are with other players at least you get a break when it gets their scent instead.

Reappearing every 15 minutes is way too often, especially for solo players.

It seems like the Leyak working as attended. For the X-Ray Tower it seems to have a short range but as is as it comes in range it instantly swivels to it with no delay, I'm pretty sure the tear it's work on a proximity system because I've seen it trying to shoot the lurker through some walls/objects before.

The only thing I would suggest changing it spawning mechanics to a probability chance so after 15 minutes, the game begins begin rolling every minute after after every failed spawn it increases the odds, Additional players will increase the odds of it spawning balancing it out for larger groups. If you are dead set on decreasing the chance of it spawning, they could add a Trinket that would also decrease the odds of it spawning, adding a negative modifier is chance of spawning. For groups of players it could could decrease the chance of that player being targeted by the lurker as well.
