Anteverse XXIII - Suggestions
First of all, spoilers for one of the portal locations. Don't read ahead if you don't want it ruined for you.

First off, I want to say that the idea behind this section is honestly a really cool idea. But the execution went from being fun to feeling miserable. The introduction when you're first dropped in, seeing the entrance of the furniture store with a horde of zombies pounding the windows caught me off guard in a good way. There isn't much supplies in the area, which I suppose is because it's not meant to be a spot to gather up useful materials, but rather use it as a way to get into another area that is inaccessible in the labs.

The setting itself is neat, and I say that as somebody who's a fan of zombies, and the level's darkness really helps set the mood. However, there's no other sources of light to be found - if you accidentally stumbled in and forgot your flashlight, forgot to recharge it, or even just spend too long scrambling around, then you're boned. I checked all over the place three times and didn't see any flashlights - this isn't too much of an issue on the upper floors, but the basement level is almost pitch black, meaning that if you lose your light source down there, you're basically good as dead unless you manage to somehow find your way blindly through the darkness back up the stairs.

The next issue that really peeved me off was the fact that you have to do the generator activation sequence any time you enter the furniture store again. I ended up dying in there the first time around, died trying to recover my stuff after doing the generator sequence, and died again after doing the generator sequence only to realize the elevator didn't come back down. It was frustrating, to say the least. I will at least say that the zombies don't start to appear until you start one of the generators, though.

I was expecting that you wouldn't have to do that sequence again after completing it the first time. It really makes me not want to go back there. Plus, there's not a lot of materials there to find that make going back there worth it, unlike the other anteverse locations. Even with the nice-looking furniture that's really tempting to bring back, I just don't want to deal with carrying heavy items when I have a horde of zombies on my heels.

I hope the Furniture Store is tweaked or even expanded in the future. The setting is pretty fun, but compared to the other anteverse locations, it doesn't feel as fun to go through. I don't want the furniture store to be a brightly lit location since the darkness definitely added to the mood, but it isn't fun when you can't see anything and you're torn to shreds because you spent too long searching for the generators. Maybe toss a few dead survivors with some flashlights and other equipment around the place or something?

had the same issue of need to come back and doing the generators again it make me feel to not want to come back and explore more the area for new furniture and i personally loved the place wish there was a way to explore a bit more of this dimension

the zombie waves don't start until you press a generator button. scout around for the 5 gens before pressing a button makes it much easier.

I'm aware of that. It's not bad doing that once, but having to do it each time you enter the place is a bit annoying.

i agree. i completed the puzzle, built a bridge at the top that slightly extends over the edge and placed a rope plant at the end of it so i can just climb up instead of doing the puzzle.
