-- we could put inventories inside inventories inside inventories ( indefinitely ).
which although would be useful, would require some additional ui menus.
-- for example, pick up an box, open your inventory, click on that box, open its inventory, click on the box in the box's inventory in your inventory, etc.
for each layer deeper, you'd need another inventory screen to pop up and an way to get both into and out of it / them, while being able to use things from within those deeper inventories.
-- to carry an filled storage, as you suggested, and put it in another inventory, this system would be required. ( currently, you can package filled inventories, however, all that they've got contained within them, will drop out as an filled, temporary, lootbag. ).
it is possible, however, there's still alot to work on before things of this scale can be added. - without causing issues / breaking things.
