If you capture a pest and they eventually become a pet then it should be possible to pick up and move the trap with them in it, the pest wheel is pointless at the moment.
However, I do agree that carrying the cage with the pest inside would be so much more nice
Let's just say I don't have a pet anymore.
NGL Pest Wheel is pointless even if they add this. Unless you want to babysit the pest all night they only run on the wheel for like 15-30 seconds then stop cause you have to feed them. its way easier to just make like 4-5 batterys to keep power up through the night.
But I'll post a bit of a spoiler here for you pest wheel enjoyers. Later in the game when you first hit labs you'll be able to analyze a machine that will let you build a pest teleporter, this will let you spawn a pest at the teleporter that you can then capture and put to work.
I just hook them up to a battery and feed them wheat every so often. Keeps everything running smoothly.
I need to get my pests into a portal world base now, but actually, I already had my pests in the upper floor of the loft above the elevator room. I would assume that's your base location, but either way, that place is only accessed by a ladder. I got my pests up there by using jump pads, and then me and my friends had to do some shenanigans like pushing them sideways as they flew up, and eventually we got them to land on top and I got them up the ladder.
With the existence of Skinks, it's been shown that you have the ability to pick up an entity as an item, then drop it down as an entity whenever you feel like it.
The only thing left to do is for the devs to apply this feature to tamed Pests, and then transportation will be easy as a button press.
