pull crafting materials from nearby containers

Having to go through containers for the specific matrials needed to craft one thing, or multiple things, is kinda tedious, and not really something I'd consider gameplay. Just takes up time I could be spent doing whatever I was planning to do after I finished crafting.

It is an early Crafting Bench upgrade, able to teleport items from nearby storage containers for crafting.

You will need a high enough Crafting skill and a special item. Both should be reasonably obtainable after about an hour of play, even without specing into it.

Do you know if this allows you to take items from crates, when repairing your items as well from the repair bench? I knew in the demo there was a "class skill", that basically allowed you to do that. I think it was crafting 5, but that is now replaced with Mega Crafting Upgrades.

Ahhh kay, that seems reasonable, though not knowing going in definitely had me concerned.

I've been playing for more than an hour, but I have been kinda taking my time. I also took slow learner, but that's on me. Just gotta grind a little extra.

Haven't gotten that far yet. I'm hoping it just works with the Crafting Bench, or just doesn't need it.

You only need lvl 2 for the given upgrade.
Sadly it doesn't allow you to use containers to repair stuff on repair station.
