Option to see friends names above their head no matter distance.
Just something QOL/optional to help my less gaming inclined friends navigate.

I am gaming inclined and I was thinking about this last night. Struggling to keep track of my friend and vice versa.

I think this is a good idea as a server setting, especially for streamers/youtubers. They're the most frequently distracted and it can help keep track of who's who in a video.

I also know someone with ADHD so this would be useful in our game

+1 for visibility. I'm trying to drag some friends in to the game and I don't want to have to be attached at the hip to help them get around.

Tonight alone, I have had to back track and guide them to where we needed to go so many times.

Doesn't the pager do this already? Granted it's a temporary reveal of location and name.
I mean, you got pagers, got walkie-talkies to tell them your location, try to listen to their voice from directional voice chat, hell, even something like discordand such could be useful. I get the idea, but it honestly makes it more interesting, and your screen a bit less cluttered if you couldn’t see your friends from far distances or through walls from a distance. Makes the aspect of being alone when your friends aren’t there have a bit more impact,

Agreed, I think it would take away from this game to always know whete your friends are.

This is why I advocate for this addition to be a server setting, not a default feature. Like I said in my post, it's not only useful for people who are easily distracted, but it's also useful for content creators as most people are streaming/uploading to youtube this game in groups of people, which viewers will have trouble keeping track of who's who if they're unfamiliar with the group (not to mention some people just straight up sound similar).

This. Also the pager sound can get annoying and could be toned down.

Have to agree. Let us have it as an option which is what I said in the original post.
Things like that shouldn't be forced on anyone that likes the more hardcore approach, but as a choice for those of us that just want a slightly more casual experience.

+1, would be great to have this as an option in the UI, or maybe a pager upgrade or something like that. One of our party members keeps asking for pager beeps fairly frequently.
Please make an option so that you can see your friends all the time, as if everyone shows their location via a pager, there are people who have a very difficult time orienting themselves in space. If you point at a person's silhouette (through walls) and press, for example, E, it shows a strip on how to get to him. Like a GPS tracker, please!!!

"Imagine a system where your friends are always visible on your map—as if each had their own personal beacon. This would be especially helpful for those who tend to get lost easily: just hover over a person’s silhouette (visible even through obstacles), press the E key, and a clear route will appear.

To make this work, you’d need a GPS tracker—the core component of the system. It would ensure real-time location updates and precise navigation to the person you select.

Admit it, this beats endlessly texting ā€œWhere are you?ā€ or trying to navigate by the stars like ancient sailors."
