Robotics Update
I believe Security Robots have more Potential than being an entity you kill for Free Soda and Security bot CPUs (or it's Jailbroken counterpart)

General Idea

• I believe Security Robots should be hijackable and able to be Remotely Piloted by the Player, this could be used to allow them to explore otherwise Risky locations and places (Or stay cozied next to a heater back at base due to PTSD from the Leyak but still wanting to help the rest of their Team in some way; is the Team's Chef or Gardener and for Whatever other Reason there may be)

• They could Follow and Protect the Player or Perhaps be Stationed outside(or inside) the Base as extra Security

• They could be Repurposes into Maintenance Robots and Repair or Build stuff for the Player once it's placed

• They could be Repurposed from refilling Soda into being a Pack Mule to Carry even more Cargo for the Player before heading Home, this being Progressively more useful compared to the Forklift (Limited spaces) and the (at times) Buggy Cart

- in Conjuncture with being a Pack Mule, they could allow the Player to spend more time away from base gathering resources and allow the Bot to head back to base either to their own Pod (Which could Perhaps have it's own storage)[/i} and drop the items off in it's inventory there at the Storage, or to Designated/Assigned Storage compartments the Player has Designated for it to use
• They have the Potential to be modified into various ways to serve various Purposes, changing their limbs for Whatever needs to be done or Simply attaching extra armor/Weaponry for them to use; they have Potential to even be upgraded

Now how would we go about getting started with this?

- Perhaps we could find the Robotics Lab and Gather the Tools required there, could - perhaps inquire Mayfield into assisting with such a Project Resulting in us being given the Recipe required for our own Robotics workstation.

How would we go about getting a Bot?

- We could Possibly mess with the Bot in it's recharging dock
- Could have a Device to force them into a Shutdown
- We could Stun and Perhaps even attach a Device to the Bot (Redundancy for Labs)
- We could Damage the Robot into it's Destroyed state and Cart it back to Base to be repaired and Reworked on

End

I see little to no Reason why we would not be able to Hack the Security bots given the Resources to do so, our Characters having the Ideas and Potential of Reaching great lengths and it would be Greatly appreciated if the Developers at the very least Consider this Suggestion.
I am happy to hear out the Thoughts and ideas of others to Which changes could be done to this and Perhaps the idea behind why the Change could/should be done

At some point in the story you reset the security system, so technically the mounted turrets all align with players and shoots everything that's enemy to the player already.

So in that regard reprogramming security robots isn't a problem given how the enemies gets stronger and stronger as you progress and move your base into new areas. You won't trivialized the game when enemies are stronger, and portal storms becomes worse.

This really hit home for me when you mention being the team chef/gardener. I always like this sort of idea, you could easily balance this by making robots incapable of certain actions or having a baked-in hotbar, then maybe kit them out with different modules back at their charging station.
Precisely, I expect Security Bots to be slower still or incapable of still getting to certain locations as easily, Security Bots never jump normally so Perhaps if a teammate got somewhere up high you wouldn't be able to get it to get up there, nor could they "Crawl" into Vents; Perhaps a small "Vaulting" Mechanic wouldn't be too bad however though perhaps it being slow would make it work out by making them exposed whilst Vaulting, I imagine this would help for them to get into the base or get un-stuck in the rare cases it gets somewhere like the Offices Fountain
Security bots are slow, but the Containment Bots are super aggressive and more tanky and powerful.

Pretty sure if there are bots in the security sector, they will be outright lethal and armed to the teeth.

I would imagine so as well, the Primary thing I would hope we could at least keep Pet and RC'ed Bots would be that they at the very least can still sprint, whilst they'll still be slower than the Players themselves and less agile, at the very least they can sort of keep up to the Play so it doesn't feel like a chore having to deal with them; the later armor for them would still generally be a neat thing to have an upgrade to eventually especially if you intend on having them dedicated and repurposed in Particular for Combat and not being a Cargo Mule or Construction

I'm starting to think this could perhaps generally be a good way to automate various systems or issues, even in-game the Security Bot was multi-purpose and purposed for restocking Vending machines, however I believe with some modifications they could even re-water Plants for Gardening off nearby sources, or put meat to cook and in the Fridge after it's done cooking (or Simply take the meat/pot off the Stove after it's done cooking)

I am so down for this but one of the most basic things I would like to be added to the robots is making them friendly so I dont have to over-pile in cpus because the only way to deal with their respawn is making a farm out of them

It would be very neat especially near the start so that we have more functionalities around their existence
