Players seem to build out of their way most of the time since robots spawn in corners and corridors.
Making bots useless wimps that hold no threat whatsoever just so that you don't have to ever use your brain is not the way.
since its up off the floor with only an eveltor to get up its mob proof until you get portal events.
This is not fully true as on event nights I do get spawning entities including the Lylak but yes the bot and critters off the floor can't get up there.
Note: the Lylak likes to spawn in the ceiling above the drop ceiling but the correct turret can reach through.
Hate to know how many items are in the roof at this point but it doesn't seem to be causing a issue other then we know =P
And yes base placement and raids are a thing in this game, which I wouldn't have it any other way.
So first off for OP's problem,
Check the security bot's patrol path. That should help with telling you where you shouldn't build your base on your first night. You have no hope of handling it right off the bat. I assume the worst of most traps not being available to you yet. Good news, if you are just starting off rebuilding should be relatively easy and shouldn't set you back very much; but admittedly, it is very painful to lose so many early resources. I've had something else set me back before, so I do understand your pain.
Another, just don't build in the patrol path, even if the bot is easy to destroy, unless you are ready to handle the annoyance. Sure, you'll have drinks, scrap metal, glass, coils, and other things for days, but it's a bit over kill and odds are there are better base locations anyway.
Also the drop ceiling in the Server Data Farm (because there are no servers there, just cubicals and PCs) isn't the best early-spot to make a base. It's literally the first area(s) the game forced you to build a base at, The Cafeteria (or Kitchen, or Break Room), behind the (broken) door that leads to the Level 1 Lobby. One area has no enemy spawns while another has just a few Pests; and unless you built out really far out past the broken doors, the bot should never bother you. It might be out of the way, but it has so much space to work with.
And yes, there will be attacks on your base. Get a Vacuum made, have it charged, and have at the little invaders. Also, what's a Lylak? Is it IS-0091's sibling or something? And why would OP have to worry about IS-0091 at this early of a stage? They have a long while before IS-0091 becomes an issue.
just keep in mind the turret has a directional attack. theres like a metal half dome on one side of it thats the safe zone so make sure that isnt facing towards your base
