Unintentional or not, they pretty much mimicked the spirit of that in this game.
Granted, Valve did hire a few good voice acts for HL, so it isn't a perfect comparison.
I don't buy the excuse people are using that they are just paying homage to Half-Life with bad voice acting though. The reason that game had bad voice acting was due to the constraints and expectations of the time being different - not by inherent design choice.
It is a bit jarring when the voice acting sounds so phoned in though. It breaks my immersion a bit, but it isn't THAT bad all things considered.
If the devs could get a bit more in the way of voice acting it would be nice.
Have to admit some of the acting was a bit hammed up, but I kind of liked it. I didn't pay much attention to that aspect (though that one injured security guard did bug me in the playtest and demo). The game play is what I'm more focused on, and that's been holding my attetion.
