Stuck in night realm, how do I get out?

I was in the security sector and I got attacked by some kind of monster, and wen't through an orange door.

Next thing I know I'm an area called the night realm.

I found a night essence, and some kind of seed, but now I cannot get out. There is a well, a single locked gate, some shades and some kind of ball of water looking thing.

I don't see any exit or anyway out, and I don't see anything thats breakable. I tried swimming around in the well but didn't really find anything there.

How do I get out of the night realm?

I shot it with some arrows and nothing happened, then I hit it a few times with the pipe wrench and it exploded and I got out.

I would have never figured that out
