The new jetpack update breaks getting to Voussoir Portal
You can't get to the portal to Voussoir anymore now. Because the building in the water is way too far for the new updated jetpacks to reach.

Jeez, this is a huge mistake by the devs. Did they forget that they made us use the jetpack to get their. Now they nerfed the jetpack we can no longer get to this location.

You don't use the jetpack to get there, there is an underwater tunnel you are meant to use. There's several computers that talk about how the facility in the water has been flooded and is being overtaken by the reservoir growth, as well as someone even saying you can't get there because of the collapsed buildings. This is supposed to tell you "Hey, what if I just swam under and went there?"

Do it the intended way and use the scuba suit. Then do what I did and put a rope plant on the side of the tower so you can access it easier from the water.

It's a real pain in the but now just to reach this area. I really hope they make the jetpack the same again. Or at the very least let us activate a later once we have completed the underwater section so we don't need to do it every single time.
eh, it happens. Sometimes it's easy to miss a detail. If you don't run into the right NPCs or logs, you might not realize what direction you need to go.

As for getting back to places, after the Lab Sector typically you just 'fast travel' between places via outpost bases you make. You place down a Crafting Bench, name it, and then sync a Personal Teleporter to it to teleport back.

For Voussoir there are two save spots you can build a base. The Neutrino Detector isn't a place I visit very often so I didn't build an outpost there.

wait you gus OVERHEATED the thing before? no suprise you struggle now. that isnt what should be done to begin with. there is no reason to overheat the thing. its just timeing. i always flew like that so i didnt really notice a difference. as for cube : lets be real : EVERYONE wears it once you get it as a trinket for good. there is no good reason to ever take it off currently. even with the new trinkets effects its still the meta trinket number 1.

i mean you have to dive down there later anyway due to the alien cubes but thats really about it still.

Underwater section just really confusing, I managed to get through it only once and couldn't do it again, as I couldn't find right path there.

It's not hard if you keep to the right side of the lake. Once you get near the tower being to your direct left, go to the bottom, go out a bit to the center till you get to the underwater cliff, go down again, and the tunnels to the tower should be around there.

I meant tunnels themselves, they are hard to navigate. Tried multiple times, couldn't manage to find exit into that tower.

Oh....try the the night vision goggles. They can help. I've heard that using both the goggles and a light source is even better but I've personally never needed more than the goggles.

Pff, you shouldn't to be surprised. :steammocking: Of course most players took the easier way of doing things. Glade that you are one of the Chad players that never suffered through that mistake, but you have to remember that people with several hundred hours of game time ran the pack with it overheating every now and then; so it isn't like this is a nOOb thing.

Mind you, I did get good at running it without overheating, most times, but when I needed to gain height fast or my timing messed up I'd have to time things right to recover from the overheat, which still took skill to do.

Even though 'you could go anywhere' with the jet pack with before the nerf, you still had to pay attention and time things right; but it was way more forgiving than it is now, and a lot of players have to unlearn the old method before they can again fly around where ever they wanted.

Though it now makes exploring the out bounds area more deadly, since any overheat will have you fall into the void, rather than simply risk falling into the void.

Dang you only get one shot to jetpack your way up there, if you missed it, you need to find land in order to reset the jump chance(else you wont be able to leave the water), you need to have the grav cube equipped too, else you wont make it. seems like they updated it? not as easy as during the first post i made in this thread. looking down while jumping after your first jetpack chance doesnt make you leave the water anymore

It can still be done fairly easily if you climb up the residential building and jetpack to the cliffs.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3384602544

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3384602657

tried it a few times. First time I did break my legs due to not getting the timing down. 2nd time did it perfectly.

Add a jump pad and/or some bridges to make it even easier.

edit - try this

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3384607003

The momentum of the jump pad alone will almost get you all the way. I wonder if it could take you all the way if I drop off my armor and drink some A/L stew. Course the landing will still break your legs....

2nd edit - yes, yes you can make it with no armor and a speed buff. The jetpack isn't even needed to get to the tower (well, you still need it to get the cliffs).

i absolutely will not and never will set foot in the water in the hydroelectric part of the map. im not doing it. not with that IS swimming around in it. i even grinded fishing to 15 specifically so that it would be neutral and i *STILL* wont get in the water. there is nothing that can be said or done to change my mind on this.
ive used the jetpack to get to the tower portal every time, and i will continue to do so, and if the game is changed to prevent this, then i will find some cheat to teleport me over there.
i will not get in the water. period.
that is all

you can still jet pack there quite easily, just needs 2 extra items and a little setup. get a ramp, and a jump pad, go to your launch site, set up the ramp and jump pad on it in such a way that the jump pad faces the neutrino detector at an angle on the ramp, launch off and jet pack once you start losing altitude.
