[Dark Energy Minor Spoilers] New Armor Set Bad?
So I've been looking for a new set of armor to replace my Mountaineer set, and was hopeful that the new radiation armor would be a good choice. Is it just me though, or does it kinda suck ass? The armor value is lower than the Mountaineer set, though in theory the set bonus is amazing. However....

Would it not just constantly make you sick and vomit up your food and water constantly? I feel like the bonuses you get would just be negated by limiting how long you can be out exploring because you get hungry and thirsty in 2 minutes due to vomiting all the time.

you only start vomiting at heavy radiation levels and reactor sector is practically buried in iodine pills. that said, yes, nothing beats mountaineer for straight up armor values and immunity to kncokback
Exor Armor is pretty good, not quite as armored as either of those sets but its lighter and integrates the bionic legs.
Remember, after 20 armor it really stops being effective. I've always found lighter armors that give bonuses better.

There is also the Exor armor that's really good.

hard disagree i can see a noticeable difference in damage taken between mountaineer armor and reactor armor, even though its a difference of something like 12 armor or so between them
the personal shield trinket REALLY pulls its weight though. i love the thing. absorbing the first 3-4 hits in any fight is so, so, so good

Yeah, but the whole point of the set bonus is having high radiation buildup in your body, so using iodine pills or pentetic acid is eliminating the main point of even wearing the set.

I goofed up and used my thing, so now I need to grind for a second one so I can make the shield
Exor armour is now a very close 2nd best, but absolutely nothing beats Crystalline
I found both armor sets quite good, though major downside of Reactor armor is that it requires to not wear suit, so you would be vulnerable to spores in mushroom-infected areas. Plus character can't maintain high levels of radiation to make the most out of buffs. You can, of course, just pack stack of Leyak essence, but why would you do that?

Personal shield trinket apparently absorbs fall damage too - I fell and noticed, that character made pain sound, but legs were intact and shield was spent.

For me Exor set happened to be the best - you move faster, fall damage is less of an issue and you even have powerful ally spawn every time you are in combat. And you still can wear Rat suit on top in order to be safe from radiation/spores.

the rad suit is not a problem since you can just build it up until you puke at base, and then carry on with whatever you`re doing

Thing is, it seems to be scaling with rads - more rads you absorbed, better the effects. However, character will puke at high or medium amount of radiation absorbed, so only low amount can be reliably maintained.

Guess it's why we got trinket, that does nothing besides applying radiation...

armor value aside, the friendly exor that spawns in combat with it does an excellent job for pulling aggro above all else
Yeah so far the Exor armor is great
Okay so I just got that radion armor.
It sucks, you only move faster when you actively have stuff IN your backpack, not with how many rads you get. And the healing at the level where you puke is.....The same as having full food? if not slower? So really you don't get a lot.

I like the hex armor since I have been getting bled alot and it heals you instantly of any bleed if you rock all four pieces
the reactor set is much lighter than the mountaineer set which is really heavy but i agree the bonus sub optimal the exor set seems better but the leg bonus seems to bug sometimes and the spirit exor tends to destroy stuff around you or down right shoots at you (for low damage) which let me belief his mentor was the helldivers autoturret. so far i would either go with three parts exor or hexwood set since everything lets you bleed even without the bad trait.
