dumped it the instant i made it and found out how it worked and went back to regular jetpack. the irony is hat if you time your thrust with the jetpack, you can go further than you could with the long jump pack
Same, was very disappointed. Feels like a downgrade. Back to the jetpack. The jumppack now has a special place besides he round single plot the auto salvager and the pest teleporter 😂😂
It's currently my default pack, it only has 1 row less than the void pack and the additional speed in getting around is absolutely huge.
It has a few other advantages too, like being very power efficient. Each jump uses very little power, which means you can basically keep it charged forever just by using the crystalline vial trinket.
And it's great for mobility in combat. Basically no enemy can keep up with you, and enemy infantry has really bad accuracy against a fast moving target. I used it to skip past the deluge of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the reactor in the large open area. The mounted machine gun CAN hit you even with the jump pack, but it lets you reach it more easily.
And perhaps most importantly, the jump pack works while you have a shield raised. This is absolutely huge, it basically removes the shield's only disadvantage (being slowed down) and makes getting past snipers and machine guns much easier.
Also OP, you can actually do a long jump in any direction. It's based on which direction you're moving, so you can jump sideways or backwards.
