Controller Issues

My husband and I logged on for the first time since the last update tonight, but the controls were completely messed up. (We both use XBox controllers.) We worked on adjusting them so that we could play, but found that we could not assign the "X" button after it accidentally got removed. We are having to find work-arounds for a couple of the buttons. Does anyone know what happened in the last update that could have caused that?

Controller issues have not been fixed yet. I made a report but nothing yet. You will have to manually fix the buttons in the options menu.

And for me the cursor disappears when using controller and this has not been fixed. It doesn't seem like the dev team care about controller users much. Or they don't bother testing it out themselves after they update the game. Shame.

But it's expected. PC gaming community is sadly very anti-controller for "reasons"

My husband says that to fix the cursor issue, go to Settings-Gameplay-Hardware Cursor. He says it could take some trial and error since you can't see the cursor, but the game starts with it on by default for some unfathomable reason. It needs to be off to be able to see the cursor. We had some trouble with that on our end when he was starting up on the Steam Deck.
We tried to manually set the controls, but the X button won't let us reassign it to the primary button.

Omg thank you so much. That worked like a charm. Now I can comfortably play on my steam deck
