Do not even suggest to them that they rush things.
Unless I'm reading the steam rules wrong, they don't have to wait for 30 days, though please do correct me if I'm wrong. A lot of the rules about pricing that I'm reading here only use the word 'after', and from what I can see, a discount ending within 30 days of a price increase just means they can't run a discount after the increase for 30 days, nor participate in any major holiday sales within that period, the only thing I can find in that that mentions 'within 30 days of release' immediately mentions early access transitioning to full release right after, stating that a launch discount will not apply if release happens within 30 days of the price increase, which seems to imply release CAN happen soon after the price increase. (All of this is entirely me huffing hopium that they'll release 1.0 sooner rather than later. It'll come when it comes, but I can still hope.)
I'm probably going to start clean, but I'll miss my old base and build 'cause grinding throwing exp was awful. Definitely looking forward to some of the new things, especially the improvements to guns that'll come with the upgrade station,
Unless I'm reading this wrong, it's possible they still want to be able to do a launch discount sale which would be affected by the price increase.
True, and I can't fault 'em for that, but I also feel like they haven't mentioned any plans for a launch sale, and even stated 'if you want to buy the game after the price increase, we'd really appreciate that'. To me that sounds like they don't plan on a sale on full release, or at least any time soon.
A launch discount after a price increase would cost more than paying for the discounted price available now, so expressing appreciation would still make sense.
Plus there's still time between the price increase and the game releasing.
Also true. I definitely took advantage of the current discount to buy the game for a few friends who I really wanna play it with on release. Granted, in the end it's just mindless speculation and hopium from me. They could wait the 30 days after the price increase for launch and release on the first of June with a discount, or they could surprise release it as soon as May starts to take advantage of the 30-ish day delay between discounts that already exists. I'm hoping for the latter, but I won't be surprised if it's the former.
Could be the 'this is the cheapest it'll be before launch' is a subtle wink wink nudge nudge that they plan to release it as soon as, or at least soon after, the discount ends, which is what I'm hoping for, but ah well.
I really hope they fixed the game popping in in front of you, though
I mean I think 1.0 brings the last "floor" of the facility? So you could play and make it near there before 1.0 releases? I don't know how the early game will be affected
