the price will increase before the 1.0 release.
-- think may is when they said it'd happen.
cheapest time to get it for the foreseeable future, would be right now.

GIven how long dark energy took, I'd be willing to bet around fall or winter this year. I imagine the devs want to take their time on the most important update of their game

Is that a joke, or have you not been paying attention to the listed Road Map and recent announcements?

They delayed Dark Energy, it's not much of a stretch to imagine they would delay cold fusion as well

I don't think they'll delay this update due to the coordination (and potential contractual obligation) required for putting ABF on Xbox/Playstation's respective game passes on the simultaneous console launch that comes with 1.0

We'll see, but don't be surprised if they do

They have already delayed cold fusion once so I don't think they would need to do it again

Actually it is a stretch for this dev team. They've been very much on the ball with their time table; with the 'most egregious' delay being about one season's worth. Saying that they won't be done until (late?) fall or winter is suggesting there will be a delay that is well past their longest delay.

Added on top of that, they announced there will be no other minor updates (like one more Community Update I was expecting :steamsad:) and will be focusing on the release version. That means the development cycle is streamlined and geared towards releasing as soon as reasonably possible.

One more thing, Deep Field Games is supported by New Zealand CODE[www.nz-code.nz] (you know, the same reference you see splashed on your start up screen?) which I'm pretty sure is helping the dev team avoid the pitfalls other indie teams run into. Sure, there could be a delay, since stuff like this is complex and messy, but I really doubt it will be pushed that far.
