Before the first big door, there should be a spot a little further back that alllows you to get up to a second floor. Up there is the button for that door. From there, I won't give youu any hints, as the method of Security should become clear

BS. I wandered the night realm in security for AGES, and only figured it out after light spoilers. Even then, I only found the solution by accident.

My low spoiler advice for the night realm:

1. Ignore the advice of the night lady. IGNORE the water (at first, come back with swimming gear later). It is NOT the way out. The dialogue is a red herring, and half the reason it took me so long to figure things out!

2. If something looks like it ought to be interactable, but isn't, try shooting it or hitting it instead.

3. Craft two personal teleporters. Sync one to the crafting bench at your home base, and a second one to a crafting bench in the night realms. That will save you the stress, time, and hassle of going back and forth while you figure things out.

4. It's not intended... but if you have the perk for zooming in and get the angle right, you can shoot through bars with the crossbow.

5. The reaper can't jump or climb. Everything else you need to know can be found in emails.

Once you figure things out, it's easy. I could get dropped in the night realms with no gear and get out in 3 minutes or less. The only hard part is figuring out what you need to do.

laser pistol , for death guy makes him go away for a few minutes , makes life so easy
Nova225 6 Sep 2024 @ 10:32pm
Whip out your X-Ray gun and light him up. He'll just get mad, but he'll also drop an important crafting material. If you need to get away, let him grab you or find his portal and jump in.

Reaper is also blind. He hunts entirely by sound. If you sneak he'll never find you unless he bumps into you.

Once you have 4 of his black blobs and some specific crafting materials you'll find in blue boxes, he becomes a non-issue.

Use a laser pistol

how do you struggle so much with such a simple area??????????? make a tier 4 hacker, run around, unlock all the doors, go into the shadow realm, get night essence, fish for night essence giving fish, make a laser pistol and BOOM you can go around without a worrying about anything since lasers make the reaper go away.

You've got to be kidding me.

The game leads you to the very first portal rapidly and triggers the portal after you make your way across to the keypad with shadowy goop on it. That first area is so tiny I don't know how you'd manage to skew it to the point anyone wouldn't understand what it relays to you:

Hey here's a shadowy orb thing for free, most likely useful! (Recipe)

Shrouded globby thingie literally overlooking your exit as you smash it

From there on it's as simple as the lead in. You happen across multiple keypads with the same shadowy goop, there's always a portal to go through and based on your initial (tutorial) experience with that first portal the loop is the same, find the globby, smash it, open the door to progress.

Oh man but what happens when we throw in a level 4 keypad into the mix! What then! Oh I dunno? Surely the developers thought to provide you what you need within that very area right?

Regarding dealing with the shadeboy itself, game literally tells you what it's weak to IF PEOPLE READ. The idea that someone has gotten this far in the game and still not realized computers, those of which are designed to be BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS in a pitch black environment, provide you with the knowledge you need is just grim, absolutely grim.

Then on top of that the designers added a nice big "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" laser right in the line of where it chases you if you wish to vanquish it without the laser pistol. How "in your face" do you want it?

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with the way they lay things out here in terms of readability, "fun factor" is another matter entirely regarding the loop itself. It's just another case of ineptitude on the user's end and as harsh as that may sound, this is effectively primary school caliber logic at play. There is a serious lapse in perception and not even critical thought, just thought in general.

This is essentially why we have so many braindead video games being pumped out of the industry at present. People aren't mindful enough to put even a modicum of thought into the equation and so game designers end up having to plaster the most egregious directions all over the screen or make creative concessions at large for people that can't seem to rub two brain cells together in order to get the job done all the way up to the point we now need to throw yellow paint over everything.

Devs even went so far as to actually get creative with the concept by creating a "yellow paint phenomenon" in the labs area to help players navigate.

Both the room utterly caked in the stuff and the lead in to the controls used to disable the turrets went right over my head in the way of the stuff being used as both a joke and legitimate direction, the idea of needing that level of "go here!" being completely foreign to me. I commend their humor in manufacturing an entire IS for it.

The things I've been hearing here honestly echo sentiments regarding the environmental storytelling present within Ready Or Not. There is absolutely a fully fledged story that dives into a smorgasbord of highly sensitive and very real topics and yet people slide onto the forums and ask "Bruh! Where's the story?!" when it's all around them in game.

Popularity ends up watering down the product and that's not to say popularity is a bad thing but what needs to happen here is people coming into the sphere need to be made to adapt and elevate their self, not drag the bar down for them, that way lies damnation. Sure there are moments in which readability requires rejigging but man oh man, this ain't one of them.

don`t waste precious keys pressed on these blind moles. They are the same people who don`t know how to deal with the leyak or how to press hyperlinks on the screen to go to a video that i made to show these idiots exactly where to go and how. But alas, they never listen nor do they ever learn

I'm sorry but this is really funny to me when it's embedded in a long post that the very people you're complaining about are going to skip because they think it's too much reading.

Ahh man I don't hate them but at the same time I don't want the developers getting the wrong idea or those looking to try out the game as well but I appreciate the sentiments my man.

Oh believe you me, the comedy wasn't lost on me at all dude but I'm mainly seeking to counteract this sort of lazy thinking and offer others an alternative perspective and those that might actually have a prior stance of the same rhetoric to reconsider.

It's very rare but the odd curveball I've thrown out on varying forums does resonate with some that have held an opposing view only to directly seek out further input even months later seemingly out of nowhere and improve as a result and when that happens it does so warm me cockles :D

Similarly, as I previously mentioned to Croch I also want the devs to know that their design on that front is perfectly fine as is. Could it be better? Maybe! Is it as bad as OP lets on? Nowhere even close.

well this went to ♥♥♥♥.
More details for my (old man yells at clouds) rant.

The THIRD security door, there is no more globes in the fortress area to destroy. just locked gates and shadow people/things that have no interaction to them.
The items required for the laser pistol need to be gathered in the spot you need to be stealthy for, smacking boxes to get the items is not stealthy.
Single player, no backup or distractions, do i take an xray turret and a battery around with me? i cant break boxes with the portable xray though it does stop the guy that transports you for a while, but not forever, and then i have to sneak my way back or i go back to base to recharge batteries. 3 hours into this cycle and its gotten rather frustrating.
Yes, i have read all the information available on the laptops, emails and discussions. Several times, as i rather dislike the fog events and stick to my fortified tram station for their duration.
My main problem is that the game is set up for Co-op, and yes you "can" play it alone, but the balancing just doesn't seem to work right. the Facility "resetting" every time i exit and enter the game has been a major sticking point, i have been soft-locked because i couldn't find the items for crossbow bolts, i popped the game on easy and still had trouble, restarted with the advanced settings fiddled with and its just bearable.
and i fully admit to being, as the kids say, "triggered" by the shaming exit confirmation message about abandoning my coworkers, its my first day at the place, i know no one and some ♥♥♥♥♥ triggered a resonance cascade, i'm just trying to get out. Alone.

In conclusion i'm probably just burnt out on this as an early access title.
Whatever happened to paid play testers and just making a game and releasing it?

there is always a thing to destroy. Fishing in the ink, and butcher what you get to get more orbs, or find them laying around (4 in total). You need to go through the room with the surface elevator and down into the warehouse section and break the boxes with iron edges and crates with blue tint. Just hit them until they pop.

X-ray`s will only piss him off and make him ♥♥♥♥ out a sphere. You can use the laser that is in one of the hallways and use laser redirectors to stretch it out all over the sector if you can`t simply run away or teleport back home and run past while he spawns.

3 hours? how?

the game is not in any way, shape or form, set up for coop, since getting a friend makes any encounter a cakewalk.

again HOW? how do you not find pencils of all things at the start of the game?? also :steamsalty:

conclusion: you just ♥♥♥♥ at the game, and should go watch other people play it, or try not raging in a survival game from the start, where you have no resources and equipment, and instead just run around until you find the things you need. if you simply cannot navigate the confusing layout of that sector, do what i did and setup crafted lights on the walls to see where you`ve been. and to light up all the pitch black corners.
to your defense

there were computer monitors that explained to us that the demon is blind so this immediately gives u the realization of stealth, and that he hates XRAY.

then later u find that he is weak to lasers, also in computer terminals.

we navigate the facility by terminals, we learn the first soup by the computer terminal,
so if u missed it, no blame.

Have you considered, that this is just not your kind of game? Most people think the security sector is straight forward and too short and kinda "on rails".

The game is perfectly fine to play solo.

PS i cleared half of the sector before i understood that you could break those crates, also these aren`t my vids. I have a guide in the guide section, but it`s not edited, nor as good as his. I should probably link these more in these discussions
