Night Only problems
So, a friend and I reached the current end of content in the game and decided to make a new world using some sandbox rules. Night only, sockets on, and we adjusted the timescale because every hour of the 'day' only lasts 30 seconds or so.

However, we recently went through Flathill, and were struck with fog that has seemingly never ended. As in, it's actually been about 3-4 in-game days and it not once dissipated.

So, is the fog affected by Sandbox timescale settings? Or does it rely on 'day' to forcibly end? It'd be nice to sprint around, but with Symphonists lurking around, well...

Hello, I'm that friend.

Also it's kind of cheating because the fog actually overrides the darkness of nighttime, so even when it's supposed to pitch black, the fog being bugged and always active actually makes it easier to see in the dark since it extends your vision range. :seriousboss:

Since the fog pretty much instantly ends the second the next day starts that might be the issue, yeah.
It might rely on the new day to start to end. Huh. That‘s annoying lol.

So just a bit of an update - the fog actually ended!

But uhh, it only ended because it was replaced with a Radiation Leak weather effect, so now we are stuck wearing HazMat suits for a while.

That is wild lol.
So I gets replaced by other events, interesting.
Here‘s hoping that this one is able to end or if another one has to replace that as well :D

Stuck with fog in flathill? Cause I think that's supposed too be there.

Think they are referring to the entire facility having fog as the fix was for another weather pattern to come in and take its place.

That is correct, and now the Radiation weather won't end now. I used the issue reporter that the devs supply, I don't think its high priority but it'd be nice to have fixed.

I‘m sure they‘ll tackle it cause that is actually really annoying for when you wanna do some custom playthroughs :D

How did you hook up your first work bench?

There is a setting in the Sandbox settings alongside setting it Night Only, to have power sockets enabled at night. Without it, you kinda can't really progress.

Oh, yes, of course. I wish there was a method for it, just because it would make you use pest power, which would be an interesting challenge mode. Like if only the power in the cafeteria stayed on 24/7. Otherwise... night is honestly not really a detriment in the game.

Ooh, I just thought this too. It would encourage base building in portal worlds too, that would shake gameplay up a bit.

Now I'm tempted to do my next run only doing portal bases. Will be kind of a chore until teleporters are available though.

New thought... is there a way to spawn items? Give myself a pest wheel, pet trap, and stack of nachos starting out?

They had a similar problem with the Anomalies where they wouldn't despawn and instead fill up the place. Unfortunately I never saw it before they fixed it.

Hopefully this is fixed as quick.

Boy howdy if there was, I'd use that instead of the power socket settings. Always felt like I always had my battery system conquered before having Pest power, -- and now that I think about it, what if there was an event that was just a power disruption? The power fails to turn on after a night, thus keeping the bots online, and making the dim day a new hazard. Rare to occur, of course.

to my understanding, the weather events are coded to end at the start of a new day. since ya'll are in Night Only, that new day.. never actually comes. i've seen the issue with eternal fog brought up before

i forget the details from that post, but you'll need to force the day to progress. possibly by turning off night only mode so the weather ends, then flipping it back on.
