Wrist watch slot
Am I missing something or is there not a wrist watch in the game or at least one you can put in your item slot?

I haven't combed every inch of the game and I probably am still missing a lot of content so I probably just haven't discovered the wrist watch items yet but I don't want to go on a wild goose chase looking for something that's not there either.

Are there already wrist watches in the game?

There's not currently any watches to put in there yet, but the presence of the slot would definitely suggest they have something planned to be put in there at some point in development.

I feel like it's the devs not having any ideas for watches that the player can acquire before late-game (so as to not be unbalanced). While I'm sure the devs have some watch ideas for the later sectors (maybe even for the Hydroplant sector that's coming in the near future), it's hard to think of a watch that would have unique enough of an effect that wouldn't be overpowered for the current sectors we have right now.
Who says there has to be any special effects?
To my knowledge not all keychains give you something, they are just a cosmetic. Watches could be the same, whether visual or its beeping.

Or it is just another feature that they haven't yet finished enough of to release to players. There could be early game watches, but right now they are working on other things right now.

Maybe that might give us the always on (or at a glance) self Rad dosage feature we wanted out of the trinket version.

I would like a smart watch that shows us quick stats on hunger/thirst/sleep, a geiger counter on the watch, a timer for the gooner. Could easily do it on the watch you have for time, just revise the screen or put an alt key to switch watch faces. Stranded Deep has one like that this shows you all your calories etc.

Maybe have upgrade levels like the hacker has. You create a lvl1 watch. A lvl2 watch etc...

I really do not understand this common stance that the starting jobs are classes and not just starter bonuses. It says suggested roles for a reason, they're not meant to be like, "FIGHTER, MAGE, ARCHER", etc.
