metal crates

later in the game are we able to destroy the metal crates like the wooden ones?

i was hoping and wondering about this, too. as far as i can tell, and based on their placement, they're purely decorative. If you hit it with any melee weapon, it creates the same marks as walls / other items that are non-destructible.
May change in the future, but they seem to just be immersive objects

as of right now, they are part of the game's indestructible features, like certain desks and wrecked vehicles.

lol i literally found a sledgehammer, went to try and break the boxes and it still didn't work. googled if they can be broken at all and made my way here
