Thermal Mallet/Explosive Sledge.
Which is better in terms of base damage? The Explosive Sledge doesn't have a charged attack and doesn't use the mine, but without the mine it seems weaker than the Thermal Mallet. What do you think?

Thermal mallet is for general use, explosive sledge I'd only use on something that really needs to be dead quick. But I use mugnades where I'd use explosives anyway, so I've never felt the need to feed that hungry hammer.

Thanks! What is the next Melee weapons you suggest? Or weapon in general. (I just arrived at the labs.)

It all depends on what enemy you're facing. I like to use the sword from the upcoming anteverse for pests and other weak enemies, mugnades on soldiers, grinders and other guns on exxors, and usually the thermal mallet works just fine on peccaries. the upcoming tech sceptre isn't actually all that good right now for the investment cost and I think it actually does less damage than the thermal mallet without a charge. you'll be able to make an electro-thrower soon, which works well for security bots, which the containment lab bots are a LOT beefier than the ones from the offices.

the best advice I can offer you is to check your PDA for enemy entries to see what elements and damage types each are resistant and weak to and adjust accordingly, the electro-pests and the symphonists for example are both immune to electric damage
