Does item transporter's distance stack?

Does item transporter's distance stack if I place multiple workbenches in range of each other to be able to access items from crates that are furtherr away?

So, for example, if 3 crafting benches equipped with item transporters are placed in a line and within each other's range, would the first crafting bench be able to pull items from storage crates that are in range of the third crafting bench's item transporter?

I don't believe so, but I've never gone out of my way to test it. I have however checked their default range, and it's a circular radius around the workbench, centered about where the actual physical form of the upgrade is on the bench itself. I don't think there's any systems in place to link them together, as the game already has issues with overlapping safe zones acting strange.
