New Fog Monster Tips?
To preface, this isn't a 'WAAAAH THEY'RE TOO HARD' because I like having a new boogie man to worry about since basically only the spiders give me trouble anymore and that's only because they're cowards.

But any tips on not immediately getting ruined by these things? They seem to be completely immune to knockback and electricity does essentially nothing to them. Their long-ass reach and speed make them hard to cheese with a spot out of their range.

They like to teleport and create illusionary copies of themselves to confuse you.

However, if you hit them with saw disk blades from the Grinder weapon, the disks stay stuck in them even after they teleport. That way you can spot the real one even amid the duplicates and attack it immediately.

Joke's on them, they don't need copies to confuse me because the fog already does that

Use fire weapons, I use the heater shield and shank it with the fire spear.

I forgot the Heater Shield even existed. Nice.

just make it bleed.
the carapace armour and a high blade skill (like 6 or 7?) plus the sword, turns you into the bleed machine.
that way its too busy being stunned to have any of its tricks work.
also having the CUBE on a trinket lets you jump over them (sometimes).

Don't use electricity on them. They seem to be totally immune. My Tesla towers and Electro Thrower did nothing to it. Though the electro thrower did keep it stunned or locked in place, but that's useless while in solo.

The Symphonist are completely immune to Electricity. They are completely blind therefore so long you don't bump into them while sneaking, they'll never notice you.

They have rough estimate of over 350-400 hitpoints. Their attack patterns are as follow:
Illusion clones - Create multiple copy of itself to deceive you. This is also a reload phrase if you're using guns. The fake clones will have no collision while real one do.

Leap/barrel - It's two gapclosers attack that effectively move at high pace to attack the player. The leap is small AoE slam, and barrel is straight-line that can be avoided by side-stepping.

Grab - The signature move of any Composers. They will grab you, but because they're too small to consume you, they'll throw you instead. Ensure that you're not fighting near abyss, or any instant-death pool of liquid.

The proper containment methods are as follow:
Three reload sessions of SMG with good headshotting capabilities. Five reloads of headshot-capable Antique shotguns. Explosive sledgehammer. Welding spears. Shield heavily encouraged. Multiple syringers to keep yourself stable.

Confrontation suggestion in following progression phrase:
Office - AVOID AT ALL COST!

Manufacturing - Ensure that you have sufficient ammos, and healing supplies.

Laboratory - Ensure that you have ammos for Antique Shotgun, and not using any electricity when fighting them.
use a shield to block all attacks, discs to mark the true one and basically any melee to just beat his ass. All the fast attacks it does deal basically no damage, while every other is easily dodged. I simply used the electricity spear to poke it from a distance while blocking whenever i`m not attacking. The only hard part is the ridiculous health pool, but other than that it`s about as easy to kill as a peccary after you get lvl 5 of sharp.

Honestly, I think they deserve a nerf due to when you first encounter them and the items you make out of them. And that's assuming you get a key on your first kill and find a chest to use it on, otherwise you're just making the scarecrow. So, either the armor needs to be better, or the combat encounters with them need to be toned down. It's certainly a strange experience with them being the second most difficult enemy in the game (1st for terrasque).

I just encountered them for the first time a moment ago. Hadn't realized they were copies. Thought it actually spawned minions, so I dipped.

Don't dip for too long as they can despawn themselves after a while.
had it happen once.

Not a big deal, I found another one in a different area. Watched it delete a peccary. Gonna bring some bandages next time.

yeah the only way i managed to find one (prior to the new hotfix) was by it slapping the soul out of an exor monk in the labs sector.
they kinda need to make them spawn more often in flathill too, because like the order commanders they don't spawn often, and they're dependant on the weather effects.
makes them hard to farm for keys.

the pistol is not a good weapon against it. If you used a thermal spear or mallet you would easily have won
