Flathill Secret Areas
A lot of locked doors in flathill, and the trailer shows people jumping using a jump pad to get places.

Has anyone tried doing that in flathill to see if there are secrets?

true, an example is the outside fence just before the entry point into the building where the final power cell is. at first i thought it was a shortcut but apparently nope.

I thought I saw a way in the alley way behind the white truck in the trailer, but if there is just invisible walls then that is disappointing

I have explored a lot of Flathills(possibly all), it is invisible walled up everywhere.
Interestingly there are several locked door locations that have depressed and alert(not patroling) Composers inside of them that require you to go out of your way to see them such as the first floor of the library or lowest floor of the main Syrup building.

I feel like Flathills is not going to be a one use location and we will actually visit it at a later point and gain access to the insides of various buildings. It is a noted base of GATE in the Order cutscene and we can learn that Flathill Syrup is GATE so doors like the employee only sewer door may eventually have function.
It also would make sense that we revisit Flathill and its research facilities as we likely will be able to learn the recipe for the Composer Armor worn by Marion.

No, but I did find it interesting when my friend flipped our car, I was able to look under the map and I saw Flathill underneath the plaza. I guess that's how the game is build, where portal worlds are just under the base world and the stuff is loaded in whenever the player is ported to those worlds.

Decent speculation. I feel the same.

As far as I know, none of the red doors (as well as some other ones like a gate leading to a parking lot) are not accessable as of right now. It would be great if got to access those areas later in the game, though, maybe even being able to bring the fight to the composers.
The only thing of note I've discovered is that there's a reference to an area in Flathill (via an e-mail) that is closed off and requires opening using the anti-fungal you find later on. Inside there is a trade exchanger similar to the ones in Adjustment.

This discussion is almost a year old. Back when it was made, that room and the school room in Flathill didn't exist yet.

Have you noticed there's been an absurd amount of necroposting the past 48 hours? I'm genuinely confused what caused this.

Yeah, it's odd. Player numbers have been steady the past two weeks, so it can't be an influx of new or returning players that are searching up topics and accidently necro them.

Maybe Steam is messing up and showing players old discussions as recent in the listing and they don't look at the dates inside the discussions closely enough? Something like that happens to me sometimes, but it's ususally just when I go back to the discussion list from inside a discussion and the falsely dated posts are usually just 1 or 2 weeks old.

Someone once stated he found the thread through google, which would make sense. They do not look at the date of a search result.

I agree that it is via Google showing old threads to players as a top search term. Given how basic the Steam forum search function is, I can't see people wading through other results just to bump the oldest thread on the forum. I've even seen my own post pop up on Google search results in regards to how long it takes to beat the game. I was flattered to be cited as a source, but... uh... still, despite how I act, I'm not the best source out there.

The problem is that Google seems to be more delayed with its scanning here than say Reddit. I can find Reddit posts that are a day or so old as top Google searches, but Steam forum posts seem to be at such a low priority that by the time Google scans them, they maybe out of date when it comes to such a fast developing Early Access game.
