How big is the map? (avoiding spoilers please)

So me and a friend have played this the last 3 nights on a dedicated server, we are loving the game.
However, in the store listing it mentions "When it’s time for a change of scenery, pack up your belongings and move them across the facility using handcarts, forklifts, SUVs, teleporters, and more." and this has us a bit confused. So far the map is an ok size but certainly not big enough to drive around. Does it get exponentially bigger?
