How to deal with three-eyed enemy from Labs?
There is an enemy, see screenshot: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198345523987/screenshot/2478745907632345264/

I first encountered it in Labs. I can't outrun it, because it's faster than me. I can't harm it in any way. It flies, hovers, and goes through walls.

In the past, I dealt with it by crossing a loading barrier, which caused it to despawn. I have never managed to defeat one before. In cases where I couldn't get to a loading barrier, I always died.

Now, it is invading my base. My base is in the office area, so it should have only the lowest level enemies. Unfortunately, soldiers and now this thing are spawning in my base and killing me.

I've searched for information about this thing, but had no success doing any of the suggested methods of dealing with it. I am years away from being able to build whatever Xray gun handles this. I tried staring at it for a whole minute, which was very hard to do considering how much damage this thing does. It was unaffected by staring.

How do I deal with this, either in Labs, or in my own base?

It was maybe scary for the first minute, but after you've died 4 times to it, it's just annoying, and makes me hate the game.

He can walk through walls, disappear, and fly- He's much more unique then the other guys.

Leylak here is quite annoying. Fortunately, he's extremely easy to deal with: Just don't stand directly in front of him, and have a staring contest with him. After 10-15 seconds of staring, he'll vanish, though he'll be back... You can build the X-Ray turret after inspecting the containment measures that failed to release him, and that will automatically remove him if it gets near the turret for your base, as well as make him drop an item you'll need later.

Anker, please reread the post. I tried staring at it for more than 15 seconds. It did not disappear, and it continued attacking me.

I have the recipe for the Xray thing, but none of the ingredients. Besides, how would I craft in my base if it comes to my base to attack me?

I think he can't be stared off if he's *already* attacking you- You have to catch him before he does that. He does periodically make noise. I agree though, he's very annoying: Prior to unlocking the X-ray turret, he basically exists to punish you for going AFK.

It should disappear after staring at it, even while it is attacking you. If it isn't attacking, it should stop in place and make its pathetic sounds as you glare at it. Though if got close enough to start attacking you (which has to be almost within its arms reach), you will have to back peddle pretty fast to stay out of range while looking it it (and hope you aren't too weighed down by loot or armor). It got the drop on me once or twice and had to do just that. Have to admit, when being attacked that short time really does feel pretty long.

I have noticed it may take longer for it to disappear when glaring at it from a greater distance, but trust me, it will disappear. However, it will keep going towards you and ignore your stares if there is glass in the way. You need line of effect, and not just line of sight.

If it still moves forward after you are staring at it, and there is nothing in the way, then that's a bug and it needs to be reported. From my experience, that thing shouldn't be that much if an issue once you know what to do (which some of the logs about it should give you an idea on what to do).

As mentioned, the Leyak is more dangerous if you don't know it's rules. When it comes to defeating him, you just need to use an X-Ray device. You can study the blueprints of one on your way into the labs, and you need prismatic glass for it; which you can both get and trade for in the Adjustment Wing. One or two towers is enough to protect your base and when you progress a bit further you can make a hand-held version.

I found the Leyak to not be too annoying since I more or less understood what not to do (by accidentally doing it) and I prioritized trying to find the means to build the defenses. Once you have the X-Ray Lamp you can kinda not worry about the Leyak since a good zap with the light banishes him.

Okay to help with Leyak management:
The leyak's sight detection is a bit odd in that it uses center of mass, which is right below the leyak's head rather than at its head (as if the game is treating it like a rectangle as of this post).

If the leyak has been angered, and you don't have xray stuff on your person, your only option is to run. Thankfully it loses the ability to track players through walls when angered, so if you can break line of sight for a while, it backs off.

Oh, that makes so much sense. I've stared at it's face for minutes before without it disappearing and was wondering what I did wrong.

BTW, have a question, use the Xray on this enemy kill him permanently? I did it, and never saw it again.... think is dead and there only one Leyak

It's not supposed to, xray just seems to scare it away longer. People are reporting lots of problems with it disappearing for too long, though.
