Report a translation problem
In my first post I based my answer on what others have said, which was that stuff at the Laser Lab was a side thing and the main storyline stopped just after the Vacuum Chamber.
That explains why the Laser Lab was so jank and obtuse.
Also, the devs should have known by now that players can and will explore places if given an eighth of a chance.
I wanna attempt to get inside that shadow horror room since I saw from the overhead window what seems to be a sort of head of a creature slightly moving in there.
