HELP NEEDED FOR LASER LABS PUZZLE

I'm pulling out my hair trying to align the green laser to the purple blip in the lab after burning the red growth.

You can actually complete the puzzle by using furniture and laser reflectors. If you want to move the beam vertically, you can do it by putting down something like a filing cabinet, then putting a laser reflector on its side which will send the beam up.

The current implementation is quite jank and rather painful to deal with, but I was able to solve the laser lab puzzle this way.

It's a bit fiddly but i was able to do it with 2 small crates and a single laser reflector all set up real close to the laser. (Also you can interact with the green laser's aperture to change the direction it comes out at)

What laser reflectors? I've finished the entire game and there was nothing to be done with that section of the game or any recipes/items to reflect them. Is it some sort of secret area thing?

Interact with the whiteboard in the laser room for the recipe. Hint; It's not the only recipe you can get from a whiteboard

I ended up doing that with it on the side of a round trashcan to the side of the laser and replacing til I got the angle exactly. I'm curious to see if there's a more reliable/replicable method because it kinda felt luckish. I also didn't adjust the green laser and ended up making 3 reflectors to try and use them in tandem but brain wasn't big enough.

Also turns out you were right about the roadmap, didn't check that to avoid spoiler but it turns out me and my buddy have done all there is to do after the portal the laser puzzle opens.

Where does the portal spawn? I aligned the laser and the purple blip disappeared with a shattering sound but I can't seem to find the portal.

example ? finished the game but i dont remmmeber whiteboard recipies, propably missed some

Unfortunately I don't remember where all my crafting recipes came from and which came from a whiteboard but; I do remember that the research backpack recipe is on a whiteboard in the adjustment wing. Largely because I missed it the first time through and only found out about it later. It's up in the room next to the room where the scientist is hiding.
