Scrap Metal Farm
Anyone have any good suggestions for farming scrap metal late game or at least what qualifies as late game atm?

I'm burning through it way too quickly and there's not really an efficient way to restock at the pace I'm burning through it that I've found as of yet.

Farming metal can also farm sneak. If you get a spear, and you crouch down in the corner next to one of the robot recharge stations in the daytime, and you poke the charging station until it's broken. Once it breaks, the robot will get out of it. From there, just poke the robot in the back over and over and it will be stunlocked.

Once it's dead, not only can you trade the CPU for an anvil, you can also use said spear to chop up the robot body to get 9-12 scrap metal aswell as some glass and tech scrap.

By far the slowest way to farm scrap at that stage in the game. These are just a funny bonus, not a viable way to farm.
Late game (in current content terms) - Make teleporters (especially now that you can label benches (which in turn label the teleporter you sync the bench to) that take you to wherever you want to farm a particular resource. To make more teleporters quickly, start by making a teleporter that takes you to a bench near a purple robot in the Cascade Laboratories, then make more by farming the jailbreak CPUs from those purple robots. Not only will this get you about 10 metal per purple robot kill (which you currently want/need), but the more teleporters you make the more resources in general you'll be able to farm from random points in the game going forward. Need metal? Make a teleporter that goes to the blacksmith you can trade regular robot CPUs to. Need Rebar? Make a teleporter that is synced to a bench outside the Train portal. Need Antiverse Gel? Make a teleporter that is synced to bench outside the Mycofield portal.

scrap military electronics, use hammer in flathill and furniture store, chase rats

As others have said, bots are incomparable free scrap rivers. Carve them up for 10-12 metal scrap, some tech scrap, some glass and a coil, then collect their 4 cans (convert to scrap) and CPU (trade to blacksmith for anvil, convert it to 20 more scrap).

In the early game you can just take a Chopinator to them daily and repair with a hammer, it's faster and cheaper than other kill methods until tesla coils. Once you get fire extinguishers: 2 tesla coils will stunlock and kill Offices/Manufacturing West bots without taking damage or needing any help from you. 3 will do the same to a Labs bot. Just make sure to connect them to batteries so they survive the night, and switches so that you can actually go in front of them to break the bot down and collect loot.

I was gonna write this too, but you covered most of it. What makes this method so great is how consistent and easy it is. With late game weapons, killing security bots is no big deal, teslas can be used to farm them passively , even passively over a few days, because CPUs don't despawn as quickly and easily as other items on the ground or corpses tend to do,

If you have not open manufacturing you can let the rats run and they drop Items than kill them for for the rat scanner or go to Flathill with a hammer and dismantle the furniture there.

put one or 2 chowheels with a battery infront of the first robot pod and you're good to go.
Just keep them repaired.

A shock trap or two in front of each chopinator will also help by having to repair them less frequently.

i`m thinking that a tesla coil ontop the security booth could work

A tesla coil will easily solo a basic security bot, so yeah. Just make sure to put a lever between the battery and the tesla coil so you can pick up the loot without getting (potentially lethally) zapped.

There's also tech with the Electrothrower:

Unlock sneak attack with Stealth and crouch to the side of to the robots in the Lab section, you'll wake them up then stunlock them with the thrower. If you do this right it will give you massive Sneak XP (as each shock counts as a sneak attack) and kill them super fast. Finally, butcher their bodies for scrap. Soda also gives scrap.

Pair this with the car and you can clear labs quite quickly (there's 1 in the main hall, 1 next to the vacuum chamber, 1 in the dirac containment, 1 near the laser lab).
